Prominent noise in steering system. Dealer tried to order defective party, but GM said none would be furnished until a new part was designed. The part is the "intermediate steering shaft". they claim that it causes no hazard, but noise is annoying and vehicle, 2004 Malibu lt, has only 17,600 miles. Purchased 12/23/03.
