The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. The contact stated that the engine light illuminates when the fuel is low in her vehicle. The fuel gauge only indicates when the vehicle is full or empty. The vehicle was taken to a Chevrolet dealer and they stated that the fuel sensor was defective and the fuel line needed to be replaced. The repair would cost $1,300. The VIN was unknown. The current mileage was 50,000 and failure mileage was 25,000.
