The steering goes out while making turns and highway driving. You can feel it jerk then you have no control of where the car is going. To gain control back you keep turning the wheel in the opposite direction until it catches. This has been a problem for at least 2 years. I have paid several mechanics to repair problem but I still get the same result and I wear out new tires in 3- 4 month period. No one should purchase as many tires as I do! I am sick of it!!!

I did buy this car used, but upon test drive nothing wrong. 5 months later I have a clicking in steering, and rubbing sound, and as I go down the road it sounds like the front end is falling off. Seriously need help on fixing this issue.

The car started to shake violently and sounded like front tires were falling off or very wobbly. Had to pull off freeway turned car off then restarted and problem stopped. This has occurred 5 times now and last time vibration was so bad it broke off both front hubcaps. The service tech at local dealer said it was not due to recall on power steering recall ye we talked to certified Chevy mechanic at a different dealer and he said it was definately the issue. Called GM customer service waiting for dealership manager to call back.

I was driving home from work about 12 midnight, on the dan ryan expressway. The traffic was heavy with lots of truck on the road. I heard three beeps then a message ran across the dash check power steering, before I could finish reading the message I had no power steering. The car started to driving rough vibrating very hard to control. I was about three lane over from the exit lanes.thank the lord I'm still here. I seen a recall in March of 2010 on the Monte Carlo call and inquired about my car talked with a manager named [xxx] for about two months no contact then was told not a part of recall.repair $1700 webb Chevy. General Motors does not care about it's consumers and something needs to be done this is an outrage. And I will never buy another GM. I have been repetitively turned away by various GM dealerships to address serious issues with my vehicle & potential recalls. My issues include - steering malfunctions making the vehicle difficult to control, faulty fuel pump sending unit causing check engine light to illuminate & vehicle to stall, uncontrollable vibrations when breaking at high speeds nearly causing me to wreck, popping sounds in the suspension system, and finally unexplained electrical malfunctions such as radio switching channels on its own, failure of keyless entry system, failure of remote entry system, buzzing of lights when dimming, and flickering of headlights. I have been told by dealerships that because my vehicle is a "fleet car" that it does not qualify for any recalls. Problems began while under warranty. Steering wiring harness was replaced while under warranty. At around 65,000 miles, systems began to fail despite my regular care of the vehicle which I have documented. After warranty expired, I was routinely turned down for recall inspections. A recent emissions inspection caused concern by the mechanic over the steering of the vehicle and I was encouraged to address these problems again. I cannot afford a new car.

I have a 2006 Chevy Malibu that I bought in sacramento ca. Via paul blanco dealer on franklin and florin rd. (they are no longer in business at that site). The car accelerates dangerously when on cruise control. The car began overheating immediately after purchase (oil lube place detected an engine gasket that needs to be replaced because it continues to overheat; unless I keep the heater and or ac going; the steering column had to be re greased and re-adjusted at Firestone a few months ago because all of a sudden it would lock. The A/C compressor immediately went bad after purchasing this car. I had to buy another one which cost a good amount! soon after purchase (used vehicle with approx. 10,300 miles) the brakes went out and had to be replaced! in Jan. 2010, I noticed the seat belt light kept coming on, even after it was locked in (which is very dangerous because I don't know when and if its going to keep me safe when driving); erc. Etc.. I need someone to contact the dealer of Chevy so that owners can go get these things checked out and fixed the right way. I attempted to call the numbers given re: Warranty etc. And nothing was resolved.

Driving 30 mph down a country road. Drove over black ice started to fishtail. Lost control of the vehicle going into three 360's. in the fourth 360 I hit a tree head on causing total damage to the front of the car. Slid along a barbedwire fence for the back end to hit the tree again and wrapping the car around the tree. The tree then fell on top of the car.
