In 2014 there was a recall on Chevy Malibu, we werent experiencing any problems but took it to the dealership instead. We are now experiencing problems with the steering. While car is still, and also in motion the steering wheel will shake very bad. When driving the steering wheel will lock up, and jerk causing you to have to grip the wheel extra hard to keep it straight. The wheel will also shake vigourously while still and in motion causing driving to be dangerous. Took the car to the dealership, they said there was nothing they could do about it.
Engine broke down 2 weeks later they said we will give you warranty and when I refill gas the fuel sensor doesn't reach full tank and steering lost its grip the same week of purchase
I have had nothing but problems with my electronic power steering amongst other things as well. The steering wheel locked up on me for the first time while parked. I turned the car off then back on & it went back to normal. I've been having issues with it making a sound in the steering wheel column & the steering wheel will move on it's own & will stick while I'm driving which makes it hard to control my vehicle. Also there is other electrical problems causing security light to come on & my car will lock up & I can't start it. The "service ESC" light came on around the same time as well. The seatbelt light will come on when everyone has their seatbelt on too. There is obviously something going on with wire connections or something. I'm aware of recalls on the same exact year make & model as my vehicle for the same issues I'm having but no recalls have been issued for my specific vehicle. I have owned nothing but GM vehicles & this one has been nothing but problems!
Clunk, knock and rattling sound from intermediate shaft and steering rack and pinion. The clunking and knocking sound happens at slow speeds (parking lots, driveway and city driving) and at 70-75 M.P.H. (highway speeds) it starts to rattle in the steering rack then makes the entire car start to vibrate.

Vehicle was in motion driving on a city street while I was making a left turn onto another city street my steering wheel locked up which enabled me to straighten up my wheel. Due to not being able to straighten up my wheel after steering left I was involved in a car accident knocking off my drivers sides headlight and front bumper completely off of my vehicle. After getting the car back home the car would no longer start. The vehicle is now at capitol cheverolet in austin Texas and before replacing the recall parts they insisted on a battery replacement I did replace the battery and 3 days later they call and insist on an alternator replacement that will cost me $800 in order for them to start on the replacement/ repairs of the recalls. The battery and alternator all were working in good condition before the power steering issue came about while my vehicle was in motion. I should not be reliable of paying for this. The dealership is also charging me a $65 towing fee!
The car has a sudden loss of power steering that occurs 1 minute after starting the car. A message is displayed on the driver information center and a chime sounds. The car is impossible to control with out the power steering. This is very dangerous! this happens while driving the car.
I work 50 min away from home and I was onnthe highway and in the middle of traffic my steering wheel got hard and I swerved into another lane almost hitting another car so I took it to a shop and they looked it over and told me it was a recall on this problem a long time ago.so I'm wondering why I didn't get notified of this ? and I also told him none of my windows work and he said they recalled out for electrical problems also and now I'm here thank you

I was driving a couple days after buying thos vehicle & noticed that my power steering message came on on my dash. A few days later the steering wheel was harder to control & when I was parked my steering wheel would move on it's own. I looked online to try to figure out why it could be doing that because I had never had a car with electronic power steering & I saw that I was 1 of many people who has the same problem with the same make & model car, some of which have a recall for that very reason. I feel like it is very dangerous now driving because the steering wheel feels like it is moving on it's own while driving.
