Light on dash came on: power steering:.. Sure is hard to steer with power steering off. Probably no warranty. Good thing my wife was not the driver when it went out. A few minutes I got in and headed to the Chevrolet dealer and I had good steering. What is wrong?? The dealer said I would have to leave it as they were "covered up". Drove back home instead, steering OK. Trade it or repair?? Had there been an accident, who would have been responsible for that?

Malibu

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,855 miles

While I was driving home from work on US Rt 50 my steering wheel locked up on me.

When I made it safely off the exit I turned my car off and continued to move the steering wheel side to side while I restarted the vehicle is how I made a temp fix to get to the side of the road for a tow truck to come.

Once the dealer called they stated the issue is I have electric power steering and it will cost 900 to fix. but this issue is similar to my previous issue back in late 2012. But that's another complaint.

I think the dealer has found a different term to have me pay out of pocket because I'm not a mechanic but I'm not a dummy either.

No more GM vehicles for me.

Malibu LTZ 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,900 miles

We bought our 2009 Malibu LTZ with 9,900 miles on it. I noticed immediately that it is very difficult to keep the car going in a straight line, it darts, it wonders, there has to be constant correction and it makes it very tiring to drive. I was recently pulled over by a State Police Officer foe weaving, I am confident that he did not believe that it was the cars fault, I received a warning. The dealer has offered nothing except that it's out of warranty, the car currently has approx 24,000 miles on it
