This is the 2nd rim to fail. The first cracked at the center seam. This had a crack in the steel itself - technician said the design is unacceptable for the weight the tire must bear.

I contacted the salesman after the first incident. He gave me the name of a website that I could purchase one at a "good" price. (No help at all) After the second incident, I contacted the salesman, service dept. and spoke with manager at dealer; no one could help. Not sure what was causing the cracking in the rims. I also contacted GM Motors, filed a complaint and checked for recalls. None were reported and they could not figure out why this was happening. I found a complaint on another website and asked for anyone else to contact GM for possible future recalls.

My tire kept loosing air. Had it checked, rim #3 is cracked. I have had to purchase to two rims in the past year. Called the dealer where I purchased the car, the salesman said he could not help me - gave me the name of a website I could purchase new ones at a low price. Contacted Chevrolet and was told no one else has reported this problem. I will now be contacting the Attorney General's office regarding this matter. This is ridiculous. I have owned several Chevrolet vehicles and I have never had this problem before. I have been loyal to Chevrolet and I am very disappointed.

This is my second wheel on my car I have had to replace. The first time- My tire kept becoming flat every morning- so I would pump it up and have good year tire look at it. They first thought it was a valve problem and also put a new tire on it for me. It continued to leak. I took it to another discount tire and they were able to find the leak in the wheel. They even said that they have seen several malibus come in for the same reason. This wheel had a crack it it. They called chevrolet and had a new wheel sent to me. I paid 350 for that wheel. Well. Its now 3 mo. later and another tire started doing the same thing. I took it to discount tire for them to determine that this wheel had a pin hold it it. I am now dealing with the dealership on having it fixed. Someone needs to recall these wheels. I have 2 more wheels that came from the same vendor and I am just waiting for them to leak now. This should not be happening.
