I have a 2014 Malibu with 80,000 miles. It started stalling in traffic intersections and at stop signs, which is a dangerous safety issue. The Auto Stop would engage and then when I put my foot on the accelerator, it stalled out. I would turn the vehicle off and restart it. Engine light comes on, but no code stored. The problem became worse over time and once the vehicle stalled, it would not immediately restart. No one has come up with a workable solution. I am shifting into neutral at all traffic signals and stop signs, so that the Auto Stop function does not engage, but that seems like a poor fix to the problem.

When start stop was engaged at light the car shut off everything on the dash and radio went blank. It auto started and ac was no longer working. Afterwards I smelled a slight burning scent (in Louisiana traffic, I was unsure it was me) but car ran fine. When start stop engaged there was a longer than normal pause before would auto start would engage. It would intermittently fail to crank on occasion for a few key turns. Engine light came on. Trunk would mysteriously pop open. Started displaying two key fobs programmed, ABS stable track, reduced engine power, low battery and another thing I can't remember at start up. I changed the battery and alternator with new ones and the next day the instrument panel flickered as well as head lights. And when I was to take it in to dealership it had complete electrical failure. The dealership said it was the engine fuse block and replaced it. Now the engine light is still on and has a pause before it start. Will not send diagnostics to my Chevy app. Remote start is not working with eng light on. I told them I thought is was battery control module but he insisted that it was just the engine fuse block. I cannot explain the anxiety. And have told my family that if I die in that car to sue GM. There should be nothing wrong with this car at 6 years old. 53000 miles and is driven less than 50 miles a week.

Auto/stop is having issues. When in gauged it stalls the car out and will not allow it to turn back over. I have been in traffic at a stop light several times when this has happened and almost got into an accident because of it. Also I am having an issue with my rpms jumping and the car losing power. I have replaced both the intake and the exhaust solenoid and still lose power.

On 7/5/20 the vehicle was in motion going down the highway and the high pressure fuel pump mounted on the engine broke lose, dropped into the engine and tore apart the engine. Was towed and fixed by closest GM dealership (deery brothers, West burlington, ia). There is a recall for a bad weld on the high pressure fuel pump for 2016-2018 Malibu's resulting in the exact issue I had on my 2014. The dealership said GM, Chevrolet and the dealership (which is a GM certified dealership where I bought the car certified pre-owned in 2018) said they all bared no responsibility for the issue. I paid $3,128 for the repair on 7/17/20. Two days after bringing my car home, there is an oil leak that was never there before. The dealership says this is a hole in the oil pan, and again is my responsibility to pay for in full to be fixed. I received a letter from Chevrolet on 7/16/20 saying there is a recall for my VIN # for an oil pressure valve. Incorrect oil pressure could have caused the high pressure fuel pump to explode causing the issue on 7/9/20. I do not believe that between the two recalls issued by Chevrolet for my car model I should be responsible for the full weight of the repairs on a car that was purchased certified pre-owned with a warranty two years prior, not to mention I've had all regular services done in a timely matter at the same dealership, that has under 90,000 miles and is only six years old. There is no reason for such extensive engine damage to such a new car with no previous issues.

While driving the vehicle it made a noise then sounded like a motorcycle. The vehicle couldn't maintain speed of more than 18 mph. Limped the vehicle a few miles home and it was leaking engine oil onto the ground. There is oil puddled up between the transmission and engine area.

The engine variable timing oil control valve is malfunctioning as I have seen with thousands of others on the internet. GM is no longer making the part. I was driving my car on a highway and the check engine light came on. The car drove normally, but when I attempted to accelerate to merge onto another highway, the car seemingly stopped accelerating even with my foot on the gas. The car was stuck with no propulsion for a few seconds before I could accelerate again. The car now only slowly accelerates, or dies if I try to accelerate quickly. My fuel economy has been worse and according to reports the emissions of the car are worse. No action is being taken by GM to fix this issue.

I've been having issue with my car slowly but surely. First my solenoid rocket went bad after a 1yr of purchasing the car that came with 40,000 miles. A year after that I was running errands one day, pulled out of a strip mall and my car started lightly shaking for a minute til it came to a stop and wouldn't start. Ive called my insurance provider for road assistance and gas, thinking I was low on gas than normal that could be the problem. I've received gas then proceeded to starting my ignition 3 to 5 times, it never crank and ultimately the key stop switching and I could only turn the key to on position not start. Displaying on my dash the message steering/power drive with care! gotten my car towed to my personal mechanic, he told me my fuel pumps were bad because of substantial amount of water found in the tank system, that I needed to purchase two fuel pumps and 4 starters for him to complete the job. No longer than 5 til 6 months after completion of the last repair im now experiencing problems when starting my vehicle my engine light came on, again a message on my dash displaying steering/power drive with care! once I shifted my gear in drive while my foot still on the brakes, the light of the gear switches kept jumping back and forth rapidly as if the gears were being shifted manual and the car moved liked it was responding to the rapid gear changing as well lucky I had my foot on the brakes during that incident. While driving my car seemed to switched gear, in mid drive on an express way which caused the car to slow down instantly as if I pumped the brakes. That happened for 30 secs or less then it responded back to the initial shift it was originally in on its own. At times my car moves and jerks forward when I shift my car in reverse. Still ongoing every so often my car moves and jerks forward multiple times while shifting into gear til this day.

I own a 2014 Chevy Malibu. It currently as of today (1/8/2020) is in its extended warranty. The part my vehicle needs to function again is a: intake rocker arm oil control valve, part# 12633613. This part is no longer in production by GM and according to them no one makes the part so they are unable to fix the vehicle. The only remedy they offer is to take the broken car as a trade in when I purchase a new vehicle from them. They refuse to offer any sort of refund or replacement. The car was manufactured in 2014. It's not an old car.

The engine light came on with AP2646 code. After attempting to repair, and the code remaining I attempted to find part 12633613. Unable to locate the part I brought it in to a garage. They replaced the same part I had already replaced, and still the engine light remained. They were also unable to locate the referenced part online or through a dealership (mangino Chevrolet). I contacted several dealerships and GM, the party is discontinued and back ordered at parts stores and dealerships. Without this part, the car can not be inspected and becomes a safety issue, and S legal issue of continued to operate on the road (in NY and elsewhere I imagine). The part is faulty on many cars if the back order is an accurate indication. Although it does not prevent safe operation of the car, the car can not be inspected overall for safety until the engine light is fixed.

I bought the new Malibu with only 3 miles on the odometer. The gas tank was filled up at the dealership but the gas gauge shows it's only 7/8 filled. My dealer has checked for recalls and bulletins and said they even checked it and find nothing wrong. I was told when I fill the tank to not leave the handle on auto fill but to hold the handle to fill it and that should help but it doesn't!
