Summary
14659 - SERVICE UPDATE. THIS BULLETIN PROVIDES A SERVICE PROCEDURE TO PERFORM A QUALITY AUDIT ON CERTAIN VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 2.5L ENGINE (LKW). SOME OF THESE VEHICLES MAY BREAK OR CHIP TEETH ON THE FLEX PLATE RING GEAR, LEADING TO A GRINDING NOISE DURING STARTER MOTOR ENGAGEMENT, OR A NO START CONDITION. THE QUALITY AUDIT MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE VEHICLE DELIVERY (AND IN ADDITION TO NORMAL PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION ACTIVITIES) TO IDENTIFY VEHICLES WITH THE CONDITION. IF THE CONDITION IS FOUND, DEALERS ARE TO REPLACE THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLEX PLATE.
