It started rusting on the rocker at about 120,000 It wasn't too bad. Always washed it in winter from salt and always kept in a garage. Now to today, the rocker panels are so rusted, I can stick my hand up in the panel on both sides! Half of the actual steel body is hanging and rusted, it looks like an eye sore. Also on the lower right fender, the bottom part of it is completely gone, as seen in the pictures. The inside the of the lower doors are also rusting pretty bad, the doors are practically rusting from the inside out. It's a annoying problem, even thought I always washed the salt off and always kept it in a heated garage, it still rusted out. I'm sure the body is gonna fall apart before the engine even goes.....
I know I live in Minnesota, but even washing the salt off and keeping in a heated garage, and it does this... It's really annoying. At this point it isn't worth fixing. It would cost more than what the truck is worth to fix all the rust. Don't need a recall, just a heads up. It seems like these Chevys rust pretty bad, so if you're getting one, beware of rust. Even get an epoxy coating to protect it from rusting.
