paint is peeling paint is peeling

This is a 2004 Silverado in otherwise pristine condition and the paint on the roof is cracked and splitting. Talked to Chevy Customer Care and all they say is that there is "no known" issues with paint in this year model and I informed them that now there is to which the lady at Chevy said take it to a dealer to have them look at it and she gave me a service request number. I immediately took it to Ed Bozarth Chevrolet and the Service Advisor Jason Brown went and looked at it and said "that is really weird" indicating this isn't normal and said Chevy wont do anything until a recall. I called Chevy Customer Care back on the way home and told them I did as instructed and what Jason said and again Chevy said there is no known issue but if I want to pay for repairs that I could..WTF REALLY???

I am selling this Truck and someone was very seriously interested in it. They showed me the roof of the cab where there is at least one place but maybe two where the paint (not just the coating) peeling. Then we noticed what looked like spider webbing on the hood and here the coating is ready to go. Of course we have the extended coverage on the truck which ran out in 2010. Now I need to sell it and this really devalues my Husband's legacy to me. I know from other owners that Chevy will not stand up to their constant paint problem.

The clearcoat started peeling off the bed of the truck the first year. On the rear portion of the bed above the bumper, large sections of paint started cracking and peeling away. Dealer buffed and re clear-coated the area, but this should not be happening to a new vehicle. PS - The dealer (Expressway Chevrolet, Mt. Vernon, IN) did not remove the bumper prior to painting resulting in a very rough finish in the clear coat. The service manager refused to acknowledge the problem.
