My horn had always had a girly honk till one day I had to lay on it real good.

After that my air bag lite went on and it says service air bag. Talked to dealer,

apparently there is a clip in there that broke from honking my HORN

and they want to charge me for it. I think not. This is a defect of theirs.

I should be able to honk my horn and not have this happen.

Truck is garage kept and very well taken care of.Disappointing that GM would not fix a problem where the airbag system is completely shut down.I see this as a severe safety issue.

Apparently the "service air bag" light warning is not unique to the Camaro only. My warning light came on about year and a half ago at about 115000 miles and stayed on in my 2005 Silverado P/U. And now seeing the cost ($500-$1200) it is going to stay on. At least until GM decides that the safety of their owners is worth their attention.

The air bag light is on and it is very irritating. The guy at the GM Dealership claims that it could cost anywhere from 200-1200 to replace. this stinks!

I had the transmission rebuilt. After I got the truck back, the airbag light is on and won't go off on the dash and the message center.

For age and mileage on vehicle something like this should never happen. Based on GM's warranty coverage (3 yrs 36000 that year) very poor workmanship. I used to be Chevy man, but tha'ts changed. Something so simple will end up costing a bundle to repair.
