Silverado 2500 HD DIESEL

I own a 2003 Tahoe, 2005 Silverado 1500 ext cab, and a 2006 Silverado 2500HD ext cab. All three are having the same noisy problem with the left front torsion bar. The 2005 was taken to the dealer at 35900 miles and I was told they installed a grease fitting to solve the problem. It didn't. The problem showed up on the 2006 @ 15k miles during a front wheel alignment. The torsion bar had to be adjusted to it's max position to level out the truck. Now it rattles like heck. I don't know what the dealer will do about this. The 2003 Tahoe has the same problem and is very apparent at 40k miles.

Silverado 1500 5.3L

MY SILVERADO HAS EXHIBITED A SHAKE ABOVE 50 MPH SINCE I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THERE IS A BULLETIN OUT STATING THAT IT IS A "BEAM SHAKE". THEY STATED THAT THE ENGINEERS ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO DETERMINE HOW TO FIX IT. BECAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM, THEY HAVE BEEN TOLD TO NOT PERFORM ANY REPAIRS. I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT I TRADED IN A 2002 AVALANCHE THAT WAS THE BEST RIDING TRUCK THAT I HAVE EVER DRIVEN AND SPENT OVER $40,000 FOR A TRUCK THAT THE DEALERSHIP CAN'T FIX AND WON'T TAKE BACK UNLESS THEY CAN STICK IT TO ME IN THE POCKETBOOK. (THEY OFFERED TO TRADE ME FOR A 2006 AVALANCHE THAT HAS ALMOST IDENTICAL MILEAGE. THE CATCH-... THEY WANT ME TO COUGH UP ANOTHER $7,000!!!!

Silverado Z71 5.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 9,000 miles

Front end shakes from 40-60 mph and above 70 mph. Dealership called my problem common beam shaking and told me there was nothing to do about it and it wouldn't matter what kind of tires and wheels and how many times I balanced them it would still be there. Am still working on getting it to another dealership for another opinion
