The transmission in the Silverado started squealing when you shift from low to high gear and is constant when you drive in low gear. We took it back to the dealer who said it was a normal noise for this transmission. We took it to our own mechanic who told us there was a problem. We also took it to another dealer who said there was a problem. But because the truck is under warranty we had to take it back to the dealer we bought it from. They insisted nothing was wrong. We called GM and complained so we ended up taking back to the dealer again who just drove it around the parking lot and said it was normal noise. the transmission is a 4L80E. I've noticed others have complained about this transmission. Why does GM keep putting these transmissions into their vehicles when they are not sufficient to do the job? GM certainly does not stand behind their product.
