CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2009 Silverado has no defect trends, which is a very good sign now that it's more than a few years old.

A couple model years back, the 2007 Silverado has an oil consumption defect at low mileage (~50k miles) — so far there's only a very few reports of the same problem with the 2009 Silverado.

The 2009 Silverado received poor side impact ratings on models not equipped with the optional side air bags.

For my last day of summer I had gone off-roading with my sister at an ova park and had got stuck in sand 3 time and notice how my back wheels where digging in to the sand but my front wasn't and as I was getting pulled out one of the times some sanding by told me when I was pressing the gas my front tire weren't turning and I did have it In 4wd (I have the manual transfer case with the lever on the floor) so when I finely got home and the next day I had put my truck on jacks and put in 4wd and tried it to see if my tires were turning and it was just the transfer case diff being open but it wasn't that the front drive shaft was spinning but the front tires weren't so I thought that meant the actuator had gone bad so I replaced it and that didn't work and then so I tried using a screw driver to see if the lever the engages the front diff was working and it was not working.
