CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 has an early trend of the transmission shifting hard, surging & jerking.
At the moment these trucks are still under warranty. However this transmission problem shows up right away with the average reported mileage only around 3,000 miles, so for now the 2017 Silverado earns our "Beware of the Clunker" badge.
Bought 2017 Chevy Silverado in Feb 2017. I drive my truck a lot - 80 miles round trip per day for work and road trips on the weekend. I purchased an extended warranty - 5 years, 100,000 miles. Tranny burnt up at 106,000. I had to replace it with new tranny for $5400. No warranty help, since I just went over. I had the fluid changes at 45k and 90k at the dealer. This is my 1st and last Chevy.
My last F150 reached 300k before the tranny crapped out.
