Tail light housing leaks water into tail light area which causes tail and brake light bulb bases to corrode, lose contact and fail to operate. I replace tail lamps every 3 to 6 months. Instrument panel failed at 65000 miles and despite extended warranty GM would not repair. I was never contacted about GM settlement concerning this factory defect.

Driving back to work from lunch on busy 4 lane highway, brake pedal went to floor. Narrowly avoided a collision at a red light. Put flashers on, lowered the gear selector, and used combo of minimal brake pedal and E brake to make it back to the parking lot at work. Upon inspection, large puddle of brake fluid on driver side near gas tank. Large leak in highly corroded brake line. All brake lines in similar condition and are currently being replaced in the shop. Transmission lines and fuel line are in similar highly corroded condition.

Driving home on the highway the left rear wheel became detached from the axle and hub assembly. The tire and wheel assembly rolled away from the vehicle to the other side of the highway, causing the vehicle to lose traction and crash into the median of the highway and skid to a halt. Completely tore apart the driver side rear suspension and brake assembly as well as considerable body damage to the rear quarter panel, rear bumper, and tow hitch. Vehicle has only light duty use, mostly commuter miles, with good tires, excellent maintenance records, and less than 39,000, just out of warranty.

: the contact stated the tonneau cover used on the bed of the pickup truck does not catch properly. The clips holding the lid in place only catch 1/8" on the bed of the truck. At highway speeds, the lid opens and the contents of the truck bed ejects. The manufacturer of the tonneau cover is steffens enterprises Inc. The contact has been unsuccessful in contacting the manufacturer. Updated 05/04/06
