For the last few months, my Silverado 1500 Hybrid has been experiencing "bump jerk" phenomenon related to the Hybrid mode auto stop mode and the auxiliary transmission pump intermittently not operating correctly. This issue is intermittent. Sometimes in autostop, the truck behaves normally in Hybrid mode. However, when the auxiliary transmission pump is not operating correctly in auto stop mode and below 25 mph, the truck is at risk of not moving forward in proportion to throttle response as well as rolling backward if my foot is let off the brake while in traffic. After some research, this issue is described in PIP4751G.

My fuel pump control module PN20759945 shorted. Recall bulletin 14515 covers my model year and part number. However, GM claims my VIN is not covered by this. This is the same part and same failure listed in the recall bulletin, and imo it should be covered by GM. Fcpm's are poorly designed and poorly placed and fail on many many GM models over a number of years. This is an item that should be expanded to include all vehicles with that part number, especially if they are mounted externally and exposed to the environment such as on all Chevy sliverados and related trucks. The fault in my case was a check engine light, and not a crank no start. I took the truck to GM for diagnosis. They said the fcpm needs replaced as it shows and internal fault. This is an expensive part and service, which should be covered by GM under the bulletin imo.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 40 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the fuel flow control module had moisture in it, which caused the vehicle to stall. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 68,242.

The lifters in the 5.3 engines are completely trash. Everyone who has a silver with the 5.3 has to change lifters often. My lifters has went out 2 times in the last 5 months. This is a big flaw in the Silverado. I was driving down the highway at about 70 an all of the sudden my engine light starts flashing and my truck starts ticking and missing really bad.

The vehicle was being driven by my son when service engine light came on and I then used my actron scan tool and pulled 3X codes from the computer (ECU) codes related to the fuel pump control module, and trailer brake warning light appeared on the instrument cluster cleared these codes. 2 days later codes reappeared all were fuel pump circuit low, fuel pump module and trailer brake codes. Cleared codes then inspected the fpsm visually removed rear cover and the fpsm was full of water I them dried it out for 2X days in the sun truck ran after reassembly. But 3X days later the truck failed to start this time with computer scan tool in hand I checked the fuel pump pressure, the truck had no fuel pump pressure. I then went to my local Chevrolet dealer and gave them the V.I.N. # to check the vehicle for recalls. Only recall was for safety belt recall which was done in 2009. I found out there was a potential recall for the fpsm on this website. So II inquired to the parts department for this part, it was in stock and $183. I then purchased a new ac delco module on-line for $85 put it on and then found my local shop in town to have a tech come out to re-flash the fpsm so the (ECU) would recognize the new part. I am saving my copies of the bills so that when someone dies from this part failing when it stops the vehicle hopefully I can be reimbursed for another planned GM part failure... sincerely mr. On thursdsy, April 27, 2017, I parked my 2009 Chevy Silverado at home in my driveway after work and shut it off for the night. It was stationary at that point. I did not restart it or move it for the remainder of the day/evening. The next morning, the engine would not start. It sounded like it was going to start, but to no avail after several tries. I determined it was not getting fuel. I called a local auto repair tech who diagnosed it on site, to be a faulty chassis electronic control module, which sends fuel to the fuel pump. Upon researching the problem, I found a recall bulletin / product safety recall #14515B issued January 2015. It clearly states that the 2007-2013 Chevrolet Silverado (along with many other makes/models/years) may have a chassis electronic module could have internal contamination (water, build-up causing wire and bolt corrosion). I believe this to be the case for my vehicle. According to the bulletin, the unsafe factor is that the "vehicle could stall while in motion and increase the risk of a vehicle crash." www-ODI.NHTSA.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/ucm472842/rcrit-14V614-0055.pdf I am the third owner so I did not receive a recall notice directly. I purchased this vehicle May 24, 2016.

Fuel leaking/spraying out of the rear auxiliary fuel tank. I noticed a strong smell of raw gasoline coming from the rear of the vehicle. Upon further inspection I observed the raw fuel was coming out of the fuel module connecting fuel line. The metal fuel line sits in a well of the rear tank and was completely covered with dirt/moisture/raw fuel. The tank was removed and we immediately noticed that the metal portion of the fuel module metal piping was rusted thru and that was where the raw fuel was being sprayed/pooling in the well area. The design of the fuel tank & module creates a perfect location for dirt/moisture to accumulate. Any type of ignition source could have caused a catastrophic fire and possible explosion. The removed original fuel module was in perfect working condition except for the rotted metal portion of the module. I replaced the rotted fuel module with a new GM oem fuel module. This new module has the same exact construction as the original part. Since there is no possible way to clean or keep clean the well area of the tank, I can only assume the new oem part will deteriorate in the same manner. The vehicle had about 34000 miles on it when the condition occurred. Since it is out of warranty the new module costs for labor and parts was in excess of $1000. In conclusion I think this matter should be investigated further because it is obviously a safety hazard involving raw fuel being ejected from the fuel tank under pressure while the pump is running.

On three separate occasions the fuel gauge on my 2009 Silverado read full, when it was actually near empty. The first time was driving through the desert on hwy 395 in California. The outside temperature was over 100 degrees. I knew I had driven too far for the gauge the be correct. There are very few gas stations on that road. The second time it happened was on the same road a year later driving through the desert. I finally realized the problem was the heat, when it happened at my home town in jamul, ca when it was over 100 degrees. The low fuel warning never came on and the gauge said full. I turned the truck on and off and it still said full. The gauge corrected after I added fuel. I inquired at the dealer if there were any recalls and they said there was not.

Was just leaving funeral and started vehicle then service traction control, service stabilitrak, traction control off, stabilitrak off, loss of control noticed displayed. Tried to drive but experienced bucking and drastic power loss. Took to dealer who said failure was due to faulty throttle position sensor - a problem he indicated was recurring for that vehicle. Luckily he serviced under vehicle warranty. But disappointing to see at less than 40,000 miles.
