loss of power & slips in drive, pulls rough in reverse
I have a 95 2 door Tahoe, 4x4 178k miles 5.7L 4160e transmission. recently it started pulling rough in reverse like didnt have power, rpm would have to be high before roll as if torqe converter or front pump not functioning properly. shortly after once in awhile it would jump gears & drop a gear then back into overdrive while traveling @ steady speed 55-60mph or up steady incline. It now pulls rough & has loss of power in drive only from take off, slips into 2nd & 3rd, & occasionally stutters in overdrive running at steady speed 55mph or below, runs smooth at 60-65mph no problem. now i know 95 was oddball year for GM company & it was a year of its own so mostly 94 & 96 are not interchangeable. Now i have a 96 Tahoe 4160e transmission from 5.7L bellhousing bolt identical, problem being transferase. 95 4x4 locks in on floor 96 locks on dash push button. If tail spline of transmission slides inline with transfer case of 95, can i possibly get around electrical componets of transmission by spliceing plug-in from 96 to my 95 wireing harness to transmission & will my vehichle computer module function properly with transmision operations?
