The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while attempting to come to a complete stop, the ABS system disengaged causing the vehicle to lunge forward. The contact stated that the ABS system would re-engage if the brake pedal was released and then depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but the failure was unable to be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact also stated that while driving at various speeds, there would be an abnormal noise coming from the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle would veer to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the hub bearing assembly on the drivers side of the vehicle needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, however the failure recurred on three separate occasions. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds for a period of time and then turning off the vehicle, a burning oil odor would come from the vehicle. The contact stated that while having the vehicle serviced by an independent mechanic, it was informed that there was engine oil leaking from the main seal and needed to be repaired. The vehicle was repaired, however the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000.

Tahoe 8-cyl

My 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe was up on a ramp and I was checking the brake pedal on my truck. The column shifter was on P position and the keys were off the ignition. My lower body was outside of the vehicle and as I was checking inside the brake pedal the vehicle started rolling back on its own off the ramp. The driver door pulled down the pole from the back porch as it was backing up and shut back hitting my knee and injured it. I have a bruised left shoulder and back pain. My knee is badly swollen. I was able to limit the damage by pressing the brake pedal otherwise the door would have hit the second pole holding the back porch and it would have collapsed altogether. I incurred damage on my back porch; my vehicle. After that incident I found out that the atc fuse somehow blew when I was underneath: The 4WD indicator was not lit up at all, while it was set in 2hi the whole time. It had somehow switched to neutral on its own when the fuse blew. When I replaced the fuse the light went back to the 2hi position. The column shifter was on P the whole time even after it rolled. This incident is extremely serious and requires a recall because this problem could cause extensive injury or death in case this fuse fails in other circumstances. I would like to be contacted by GM to fix the issue and compensate for all the damages.
