The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that the check engine light illuminated on the dashboard. He took the vehicle to a local repair facility for diagnostic testing. The mechanic advised that the exhaust manifold bolts were fractured; two on the passenger's side and one on the driver's side. The mechanic stated the engine would have to be pulled from the vehicle to perform repairs. The contact also stated that when he would open the hood, smoke would emit from the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated he was able to locate numerous complaints on his year, make and model pertaining to the failure. The failure and current mileage was approximately 300,000.
