The emergency brake did not keep the vehicle from moving. The consumer was able set the emergency brake and the vehicle would still move. It was replaced less than one year ago, but the problem recurred. The work was performed by the local mechanic. Once the brake was set and was stressed, the shoe would fail.

Emergency brake on Tahoe's go out if you do not use them and cost around $500. To fix the problem.from people I have talked to GM knows about the problem but does not care and refuses to fix.I understand that this problem is on all Tahoe and Suburban years 2002 and 2003.to pass a safety test in Texas you haven't to have an emergency brake that works.I was told that you have to use this brake on it will happen again.I don't park on a hill so I don't use it.others are the same.
