The vehicle randomly loses or gains power while driving. All of the auto locks go up and down, while the cluster goes in and out with very high rpms and then completely loses power in the middle of the road. Or this happens and the steering gets very tough. It is very dangerous because there are times where it happens on the highway while doing up to 80mph. It also happens when sitting at line to pick up my child in pre-k. If it were to jump and the brakes weren-€™t hit fast enough it could really cause a horrible and possibly deadly situation. I have done everything that I can on my end with this truck. I recently replaced the battery and replaced the master fuse since reading it was the cause. That lasted for a week. I have read hundreds of owners with the same problems that have went to private owned mechanic shops along with gm certified mechanic shops. They have yet to find an answer to this possibly deadly malfunction. There are posts and websites all over sharing other owners with the same problems and all of their stories end the same. That gm along with any mechanic used has yet to find any results to this. I noticed that the 2015 model has a recall for this problem but doesn-€™t describe what is being done to fix the actual problem. It has the same engine and setup as far as I can see so I wonder why there isn-€™t a recall for the 2010. I have two school age children that have to be brought to and picked up from school daily. If you look up this problem online you will find endless stories and questions about the issue at hand. Most people end up spending thousands of dollars trying to fix the problem on new batteries, cables, starters, etc. However, they all end up with the problem being unresolved with all of that unnecessary debt. This is a very serious manner and I feel that it-€™s only a matter of time before lives are lost over this. I thank you for the opportunity to be heard and pray that a resolution comes sooner than later.

I purchased this vehicle used in the fall of 2019 at a used car dealers lot in Oregon. In the summer of 2019 we started experiencing random no start problems. The first incidence we thought it was a faulty starter even though we could jump/short it across the terminal, and start the vehicle. After replacing the vehicles starter with a remanufactured non GM starter, we started having more no start problems. Remedy was arcing the starter posts across one another, and then vehicle would crank and start. We had the vehicle inspected by a GM dealer, our local mechanic, and they stated it had to be "dead" in order to diagnose the problem. Then a week later we had the car go into "anti-theft mode" while driving, and the speed and transmission slowed the vehicle nearly to a stop, - all the lights started blinking, dic warning lights started flashing check stability, check blind side, check 4 wheel dr., ect... fortunately I was not far from home and parked the car in the driveway and shut it off. Immediately I tried to re-start the vehicle and we had a "no-crank" issue again. I checked and replaced all fuses relating to the stater even though not blown. We then had it towed to our local mechanic who is ase certified and he completely dismantled the under hood electronic fuse block, and the communication fuse block under the drivers side dash and to no avail- found no wiring or fuse problems. He diagnosed over 400 connections, and could not find anything contributing to the problems. He stated as soon as he unbolted the under hood fuse block the car started, but he continued the diagnostics as stated above. There is a third fuse block under the dash that sits beside the communication block, and has fuses that were checked as well. During July, August, October 2019, we had numerous no start/crank instances. Remedy is a large screwdriver and arcing the starter.

Driving down highway traction control light, check engine light, stabilitrax off, service stabilitrax, engine power reduced lights came on. Engine also idled erratically and would try to jump the car forward when slowing down to a stop. Could turn off car for a few mins and it would reset and turn back on and drive normal for a few miles with check engine light on, then do it again. Used heet because thought it was bad fuel but continued doing it.

This has happened numerous times in the past year and a half. When accelerating after a stop or slowing down, there is a "pause" in acceleration. I hit the gas and the vehicle slows down significantly before it jerks forward at an accelerated speed. For example, when I'm making a left turn and hit the gas it will slow down and then shoot forward really quickly. Sometimes the forward jerk is so powerful it will make the tires squall as if I'm purposefully trying to "burn out." This happens when I stop at light or stop sign, when I'm reversing out of a drive way, as I make left turns and there's a speeding vehicle coming at me and the Tahoe decides to decelerate in the middle of the road...driving conditions don't matter, whether on a highway or city street, doesn't matter. It happens all. The. Time. I'm afraid it will just stall while I'm making a turn and I'll be T-boned by an 18 wheeler! I'm afraid to go anywhere with my kids in the vehicle!

The contact owns a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed and the engine reduce power warning indicator illuminated. The independent mechanic cleaned the throttle, but the failure recurred. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
