CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.

This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.

Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.

Brakes failed for no apparent reason around 8:00 am that morning. My friend and I was driving to my home in his 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer after many stops that morning. We was on the interstate doing 65 MPH. I noticed the traffic ahead approaching and I said "cars" indicating to my friend to slow down. He said "I have no brakes!" We narrowly missed the first cars and while readjusting we came into contact with the driver side of three vehicles rolling us on our side! I broke both my arms escaping thankfully with my life. We had no idea what suddenly and unexpectedly lost brakes. Weeks afterwards I started reading about the stabilitrac and steering sensor on the 1 of many Chevrolet vehicle defect issues. Around that year and I believe was the problem. I have been out of work and tried to explain this to people with no reply. I read an article about Chevrolet told about the issue and refused a recall. Senator Blumenthal requested an investigation but I haven't seen anything after a judge requested a Chevrolet CEO deposed. If this vehicle has these dangerous problems please know that it almost killed my friend and i. https://gmauthority.com/blog/2021/03/u-s-senator-asks-nhtsa-to-investigate-gm-over-faulty-steering-sensor/ Thanks if anyone is listening. The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving various speeds, the vehicle was involved in a crash on three occasions for the same failure. The contact stated that the brakes malfunctioned in the same format three times since June of 2014. During the first occasion, the brake pedal made a popping sound, vibrated, and traveled to the floorboard. In turn, the contact crashed into the preceding vehicle. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed and there were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to rick hendricks Chevrolet in buford, Georgia where it was repaired. During the second occasion, the contact crashed into the preceding due to the brake failure. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to chattahoochee collision in buford, Georgia where the vehicle was repaired. During the third time the contact rear ended a vehicle, the air bags did not deploy. A police report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to caliber collision in buford, Georgia where the vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and stated that the vehicle would have to be diagnosed by a General Motors dealer, and that the contact would have to pay for the repair because the vehicle was out of warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 123,000.

While driving at about 60mph my ABS light came on an my car started jerking as the anti lock brakes kicked in. I let up off the gas but as soon as I applied the gas it continued, I then pulled over to turn the engine off I let it sit for about 5 min an started it back up an it was fine. This has happened several times over, an usually when I am going at a higher rate of speed. I would say it has happened at least 10X in the past year.

The summer of 2013 I had it brought to my attention that my driver side brake light would fail to light up as the brake was applied. I tried changing the bulb but that proved to not be the problem as it still failed to light up. The following summer the same thing happened with the passenger side brake light. I am unsure if it is an electrical problem or a sensor that has gone bad. I can only assume that it is an electrical problem due to the fact that the back windshield wiper stopped working due to electrical issues.

My wife, daughter and myself were driving on Idaho state highway 70, a narrow, winding, two-lane road with little to no shoulder, when the motor stopped and ilost all power-brakes, steering etc. I was fortunately able to steer the car over to a wide spot on the shoulder and stop. I was unable to re-start the Blazer and called aaa to have it hauled to knudtsen Chevrolet in coeur D'alene, Idaho. In another half hour we would have been driving 70 mph on interstate and the outcome could have been disasterous if the car had failed then in high volume traffic. The next day I was advised by knudtsen that the ignition switch was the problem. I wrote a follow-up letter to the owner and the service manager called a few days later indicating that since my warranty had expired neither GM nor knudtsen could help me with the $268 charge for replacing the switch. Since then I have been told GM and knudtsen would split the cost three ways since I was a long-time customer (three Blazer). I have not yet received any reimbursement as of this date. Is this possibly another car which should be on the recall list?

When I was driving downhill on curvy road, I applied the brakes during a turn and the power steering had activated my anti-lock brakes. It kept happening on every turn and when I took my car to a shop they had to replace a steering angle sensor.

Started by truck, the brakes and ABS lights came on, also engine light. After turning off and wait a few minutes, I restarted my truck. Lights were off. I drive approx 33 miles to work everyday. When I arrived to work, as I was parking it sounded like my brakes were grinding and hard to move my truck. It became difficult to drive it, like something was holding it back. When I was leaving to go home, nothing, everything seemed ok. Approx 5 minutes before getting home, I was at a light and when I push the gas to go, the noise came back and it was very hard to get my truck to move. Finally got it home, I told my son what happened, he took it for a drive and nothing. For the next few days only here and there maybe I would hear the grinding noise and hard to move my truck. Yesterday 4/15/2013, I was going home and stop at light, my tuck did not move again, light something stopping it from moving. When it started moving the noise is so loud that it sounds like the whole bottom of my truck going to fall off. My truck was in the shop for the recall of sensor for window, they inspected the vehicle and I have a inspection that my truck was in the green for all, new rotors, new brakes all good. So I looked online and I can see that I am not the only person who is having this problem, but I do not see it on this sight. I am scared... do you know anything about this?

The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that the stability light illuminated on the instrument panel and the brakes unexpectedly engaged. The contact was traveling 60 mph when the failure occurred and the vehicle decelerated to 30 mph before the brakes released. The failure occurred on more than one occasion.
