Battery energy control module is bad, car would not start.
This appears to be a problem that GM has known about for sometime. There is a bulletin regarding the issue. There was a class action lawsuit in Nov. 22 and now another in Dec 23. I was told by GM service department it is covered by Voltec battery warranty, but they are having a difficult time finding the BECM (battery energy control module) to repair vehicle. I hope they replace it with another defective known part and cross my fingers that I will not have to pay out of my pocket for the next time since it seems to go bad prematurely. I was left stranded, without gradual warning it was going to completely not turn on at all. Had to have it towed.
