CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2015 Chrysler 200 carries the torch of "never buy the 1st year of a new vehicle generation" with pride.
The 2015 model year is the first year of the Chrysler 200's 2nd generation. It has been plagued by problems from the start. Transmission failure at extremely low mileage, many recalls, problems stalling while driving... the list goes on. Maybe Chrysler should have stuck with the 1st generation.

A couple of weeks ago my temperature gauge was going up oddly fast and then I would get to alerts simultaneously 'engine temperature hot' and 'service elec. Throttle control' I turn off the car for a few minutes and the gauge would go down. I'm not sure how concerned I should be or if this is a common error.
Vehicle has around 35,000 miles on it. I have noticed since about 20,000 miles that the car has been jerking. This happens both with slow acceleration and slowing down to stop. If I am approaching a red light or stop sign and I start to slow to stop, the car will jerk to the point that it feels like it will stall. When easing off of the brake after a stop sign or red light, the car jerks to the point that if I was close enough to the car in front of me, I would most likely hit them. On one occasion I was driving through a school zone going about 10 mph, the RPM needle was past 4 and the car was making a loud sound. I tried to go slower but the car jerked and stalled. Another issue is when trying to merge onto an interstate, the car doesn't seem to want to speed up. It will be stuck around 50-55 and I really have to hit the gas to get it to speed up. Within the last month, my car has stalled twice. Once when backing out of my drive way and once while pulling in. I have taken it to the dealership relating the a transmission error I got as well as a coolant temp. Sensor and mentioned the issues with the jerking and stalling but the dealership has not been able to recreate or get a code. This is starting to happen more frequently and is a bit alarming as I never know when it is going to start giving issues.

The car has stalled many times and then will not start right away but will start after a few tries.this has happened on city streets while at a stop and also in the driveway while moving.
Takata recall, on the dash it says engine warming wait to start, I have to press start and off 7 to 15 times before it starts and sometimes it just reads engine warming wait to start
"takata recall" my car shuts down while driving which is a big problem because my children is the car. Also when I push the gas it stalls then it turn over.
Complaint - engine when I tried to turn on my car it would not crank and it said engine warming. Battery and engine light came on. Called someone for a jump battery was fine but would not start please help us we just went in grocery store came out and it would not start it was in park with park brake set..and allso a few times after letting of the accelerator it took it an excessive amount of time for engine idle to drop back to normal
Cylinder head failure, needed cylinder, valve, and gasket replaced. The car started running poor, misfire, engine light came on. I replaced spark plugs and coil hoping that would fix the issue. Still, misfire went to dealer had work done. This is a well know issue with pentastar they need to be accountable.
Randomly if I hit a bump my airbag light will come on. Now for a 2015 200 limited why am I needing to replace the whole starter assembly and now to have to replace the air shutter grille. The vehicle headlamps are extremely poor. It's very hard to see see on all highways, side streets etc. Now the traction stabilizers light came on as I was backing in to a parking space as well as my brakes just started making a squealing noise out no where as driving on the street. There no reason why there should not be a recall on multiple vehicle issues as most people are stating. Why isn't there a number I can call to file a compliant with all the vehicle issues I've experienced? this just crazy then to have to come outta $1,300 for vehicle repairs is crazy! why does this vehicle stall when the oil is low shameful for the vehicle to stop and and barely start back! tires sucks outside mirrors always have to adjust this brand is garbage!! people everywhere is having issues with the vehicle starting.. please do something about these vehicle issues. There is no reason why this vehicle is 3 years old and is stalling this is embarrassing. On top of having to pay a note that ridiculous. I want to be compensated in the amount of the vehicle repairs.
Gator Chrysler service manager roger called this dealership and agreed to give me a new tire with road hazard warranty after I got a nail in my tires on his lot. The invoices will show this. The other tire they patched and roger after getting on phone with tire kingdom requested this come back to him. These original 4 tires, including the patched ones had matching dot numbers. The new one paid for by roger of gator chrylser melbourne, fl had an inmatched dot number, being from a new batch, also lesser tread wear compared to other 3. tire kingdom since has seen my car multiple times for tire punctures. I was told the car guys here are connected and nothing is for free. I was told they are pawns following someones directive. This is disturbing as it involves local organized crime, as even the police could not get away with this action legally. I saved tge patched tire and all records. Tire kingdom repeatedly with gator Chrysler of melbourne, fl sabotaged my car, tires since
My airbag light stays on permanently. It used to come on intermittently. I have had the problem fixed twice by a Chrysler repair facility. I was told not to worry it's just a wiring harness problem. I'm scared because I've seen airbag recalls and I don't know why my car hasn't been recalled yet. My car also seems to be jerking more frequently. It jerks sometimes when I'm accelerating. I was told this was normal because of the type of engine. I inquired about this not long after I bought the car in 2015. The jerking seems to be getting worse. My check engine light stays on. I can provide info that my airbag sensor problem was fixed twice.
Takata recall, my Chrysler 200 2015 is having issues where it seems like it's stuck in neutral and doesn't want to accelerate. My car started rumbling pretty intensely I don't even have 80,000 miles on my car and it says my VIN number doesn't match any recalls but everything I've looked up it sounds the same recall the other Chrysler 200 2015 cars had as well. How do I go about getting this fixed?? I was on the freeway and it happened randomly when I went to switch lanes.
The car stalls while driving, when coming to a stop or when sitting still, it does not seem to do it after the vehicle warms up, also when it stalls it is does not want to start right away. Sometimes taking several attempts to get it started. It started mid October and has been happening since.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that the tire pressure monitoring system, air bag, and check engine warning indicators flashed. In addition, the key fob was not being recognized with the vehicle. The key fob and battery were changed, but the engine continued to lose power and failed to start. Also, the instrument panel/cluster shorted out. The vehicle was towed to bradshaw Chrysler Jeep (1953 554 main St, Oakville, ct 06779, 1-(860) 274-8834) for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was not available.
On October 10th and 12th my car slowly started shutting down while driving and gave an error message to "shift to P and press start" I did this and the car started up again and continued to run. On October 15th on my drive to work this happened again, thank goodness I was on a side street so I could pull over to get the car started again. It started after a few tries and I made it back home but the car completely died in my driveway. Nothing worked not even the unlock buttons for the passenger doors. I take a major interstate to work and could have been seriously hurt had I made it that far this morning or hurt others. Somebody needs to do something about this, I have read plenty of other complaints about the same model of car doing this exact same thing. My car only has approximately 50,000 miles on it.
Takata recall my vehicle shut down on me last night while driving for the umpteenth time since I've had it. I've contacted Chrysler but of course they act as if they know nothing. I got serviced for two recalls one in 2016and the other 2017 and neither have remedied the issue. There is no code, no lights come on or anything. The only warning warning that I get is for me to put it in park in order to restart it. I'll never purchase another Chrysler in my life.
