At a slow speed of about 5 to 10 mph, my vehicle would shut off leaving me with no power brakes, power steering, and in the path of cars behind me almost hitting me as well. It always happens when I am turning left or right at a slow speed. I have had the wireless ignition control module, battery, and key fob replaced already by the dealer.

For the past two years, between the miles of 78,000 and 97,000, we have experienced multiple (over 2 dozen) events where the vehicle will lose all power. Most occasions occur as we are coming to a stop or attempting to accelerate from a stop. The dash lights usually, but not always, start to flash just prior to the event occurring. When we lose power, it is a complete loss of power. Even the radio and clock need reset after the incident. The events have happened during all types of weather, when the van is cool or has been driven for hours. Multiple dealerships have worked to fix the issue, but nothing has resolved it. O2 sensors, egr valve, ABS module, a throttle body cleaning, and thermostats have been replaced. Only for the stalling to occur again. The issue has been up to the Chrysler corporate people and a dealer in cleveland actually had van for 3 weeks, but could not fix issue. At this point Chrysler has wiped their hands of the issue. The van is at dealer again now, because it stalled out 4 times last weekend. Of course they find no codes and cannot replicate the stalling so they want to do another throttle body cleaning. They have told to us to get the van towed the next time it stall without turning in back on. Easy for them to say because they are not stalled out in the middle of an intersection at 5:30pm on Thursday or another intersection the Sunday evening of new years day. I am fed up with the vehicle and being told they can do nothing for us. I do not want to put my family in harms way any longer. The shear number of complaints for this issue on these vans is alarming. How can a company continue to put a product out that places people, especially children, in such danger. The only other issue for me is that pricing of other minivans (Toyota & Honda) makes it hard to leave the Chrysler models.

When I begin to drive my vehicle within the first few hundred feet or minute of driving the vehicle will shut off completely. Once the vehicle comes to a complete stop I can restart it after the second attempt. I am usually on a city street but heading towards a major highway (garden state parkway or rt 1 or rt 18). I have invoices however the 3 different service stations they are not able to duplicate at the car dealerships service station. This vehicle shutting off at will has been happening since February 2017. Again it is not consistent, I never know when it will happen. This is a safety issue putting myself and my family at risk.

The traction control warning light flashed and then the car completely shuts down while driving. I contacted mopar who says it is not a known issue, but it obviously is. www.carcomplaints.com/Chrysler/town_country/2010/engine/engine_stalls_shuts_down_while_driving.shtml. I believe mopar should investigate recall these vehicles.

The vehicle has shut off on us 3 times while driving. All power is lost and we nearly had major accidents in 2 cases. We contacted Chrysler, case #31401025, but they are unwilling to assist. They don't believe killing innocent people is their responsibility. We have had all the recall work done on this vehicle, and they allegedly "fixed" this problem before the third incident this morning. This vehicle is a hazard to my family and to the public and Chrysler is unwilling to do anything about it. I will never feel safe in this vehicle and I want them to pay me to take it off the road. The government also needs to issue another recall.

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and country. While driving at various low speeds, the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure occurred on several occasions. The vehicle was taken to a dealer, but the failure could not be duplicated. The serpentine and tensioner belts were replaced, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V373000 (electrical system, air bags). The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

This vehicle experiences intermittent engine shut off with no warning. There is no indication on the dashboard prior to this happening. The vehicle is always in motion and it seems to happen at slower speeds. It starts up immediately after this happens. This problem is described in safety recall L25. I've contacted Chrysler and they tell me that my vehicle is not part of the recall. I've had it examined by a dealer and they were not able to recreate the problem. This has happened multiple times over the last 6 months. Most recently it happened on 3/13/2017 and 3/12/2017. The vehicle is currently in the dealership's service department. My wife and daughter will not drive the vehicle due to safety concerns.

Our 2010 Chrysler T&C stated to have engine stall problems since two years ago. Basically the engine just stopped when driving (the RPM drops to 0). The driver will feel the steering wheel gets heavy and the traction warning light comes on. We did the Chrysler R03 safety recall repair (I..E replace the win module) but it does not help at all. Especially prone to stall in the first 20 minutes of driving when temps was low, and especially when humid. We have had it checked by multiple mechanic shops but no clue was found. Multiple parts have been replaced (crankshaft position sensor, camshaft sensor, and egr valve) but nothing worked. Now for every driving we expect at least 2-3 engine stalls on the road. It is very dangerous!! I see lots of similar complaints online and Chrysler should definitely solve this!

While driving the car randomly shuts off. The esp light comes on, I loose most steering and brake function. Likely do to the loss of power. The Chrysler dealer can not find the cause. So far, this has happened at low speeds (25mph) and on city streets. This is a new problem that started around 1/15/2017

Engine shuts down while I am driving. There is no pattern to when it shuts down. The stabilizer light goes on, then power steering fails, breaks do not respond. This happens all the time and Chrysler can not fix it. I am looking for more information on this but can not find where in your database to look please send a link.

On several occasions now, while in motion usually under 15 mph and slight downgrade, usually when cold. Although it did happen once at 40 mph and another time when engine was warm. The vehicle totally losses power, engine shuts off but the traction control light comes on. Radio and everything else continue to work. Put car in neutral or park and restart. Seems ok after that. It has been getting progressively worse. Feel it very dangerous. My mechanic said the vehicle has no codes so he doesn't know what it is.

Vehicle stalls at different times and under different conditions. Dealer could not troubleshoot or repair the issue. Van will stall driving at low speed (20-30mph) and occasionally at higher speeds (40-50mph). Vehicle completely shuts off and has no power. Extremely dangerous to drive.

On 1/24/17 driving at about 25 miles per hour and coming to a stop, the traction control light came on even thought it was not raining, snowing, or icing. I then noticed the power steering and power brakes were not working. I realized the engine had shut down. I coasted to a stop on the other side of the road and luckily there were no cars coming the opposite direction. It started right back up and drove directly to the dealership. They looked at it and said they thought it was a new battery issue causing an issue with the computer. A mechanic looked at everything and could find no issues. No codes came back on the diagnostic. The mechanic reset the computer and said it was fixed. On 1/26/17 the same thing happened. Driving at about 25 mpg and coming to a stop light the engine again shut off and I lost power steering and brakes. I turned the key and it started up again. I drove home and called Chrysler. The rep said not enough complaints had been issued to warrant a recall. This is a severe safety concern with the car shutting off while driving. The safety of my children and my husband are at risk when driving this vehicle. The van has just over 85,000 miles.

Town & Country 6-cyl

  • 100,000 miles
For the last 4 months our 2010 Chrysler Town and country minivan, an otherwise reliable vehicle, has been stalling while driving. The failure is extremely predictable and occurs under the following circumstances. After a cold start while vehicle is still warming up. In a coast down situation, like stopping for a traffic light, or slowing for a turn. Seems to be worse in wet environments. What happens during failure: The traction control light goes on. The van completely shuts down. You need to put it in neutral and restart. Since this vehicle is stalling on the road while in motion, in many instances it leads no near collision situations. Since the power steering and breaking go off its hard to corral. Even when you expect the failure and are ready to drop it in neutral, it causes you to manipulate the vehicle rather than keep your eyes on the road. I might be able to capture this on video if that would be helpful. I have serviced this van according to the manufacturers instructions.

Town & Country 6-cyl

  • 76,000 miles
While in motion, the vehicle suddenly loses power. The engine, power steering, brakes and ac unit cut out. The radio and hazard lights continue to function, as if the vehicle has entered accessory mode. This happens both at slow speeds (20-25 mph) and in highway driving (60+ mph) and any speed in between. Sometimes the event is preceded by a bump or jar in the pavement, and other times it has no apparent cause. Turning the key to the off position and restarting the car resolves the issue, however this is difficult when in the middle of traffic. In addition, on occasion, the key fob seems to have difficulty starting the ignition. It might take 3 or 4 tries before the engine turns over, despite no battery or electrical loss. These things often coincide so that you are frantically trying to restart the car in the middle of a highway. This problem occurs infrequently, the worst case of this happening is dated below, but that is not the only time.

While driving the vehicle, always under 40mph, the traction control light comes on, I lose power steering, the engine shuts down, all lights and radio is down. So far I have been able to put it in neutral and restart. This morning I hit a curb going around the round about taking my kids to school. This has been going on over a year. It doesn't matter if its cold or hot, raining or sunny. It will go a month with nothing and then in one day it will die 6 times. We have been to private mechanics we have been to two different Chrysler dealers and they have checked the erg valve and the key fob, the ignition switch, they have check the battery, ran down all the electrical stuff, they had it for 2 days last week and couldn't figure it out. It's died on my 4 times this week. I have four kids and I'm always in the van and now I'm scared to drive it! we checked the VIN and there is no recall as we already did the vent window. But the recalls that are listed describe exactly what is happening. So Chrysler knows and doesn't care! you cannot just recall certain batches when there are clearly other vehicles doing the same problem. What is Chrysler prepared to do for a family when they are seriously injured in an accident because of their van! can't trade it in. Don't have the money to take the loss, wtf are consumers supposed to do with these vans. We are the original owners of the 2010 T&C, I love this van but it scares me to death! I just want it fixed! I mean I love roller coasters too but if one kept going off the tracks I'm not [xxx] sure I wouldn't ride it or put my family on it. Please Chrysler fix these cars! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

During driving (typically city speeds of ~30-45mph), without warning or notification the engine will shut off and you will lose all power steering and braking is seriously diminished. It has happened once on the highway at ~65mph that I am aware of). When this happens the only indication you get is the red traction control light on the dashboard.it can happen while turning, driving straight, curves, etc. In order to gain engine power and the ability to steer, the only fix action is to place the vehicle in neutral and turn the key to restart. It will not just restart in "drive". we have taken this vehicle to the dealership 4+ times in order to diagnose and fix...to which we have been told "there is nothing showing up on diagnoses", "sounds like it could be X, but it's $1500 to replace and we can't guarantee it will fix it". we have made sure that it is not visibly related to the ignition issue noted on some other same year/model vehicles...although it cannot be 100% ruled out as somehow related. I have done research on Chrysler webforums and this issue has been noted by multiple other owners (ie. Https://www.cargurus.com/cars/discussion-T27257_ds557462 ) and one of the mechanics made an off the cuff remark about seeing this issue before as well. We have recently moved cities and I plan on taking this to a new dealer in an attempt to fix the issue. But this is a serious safety issue, if this was to occur while trying to make a left turn across traffic, or at a time when the car in front is braking, it could be deadly. I used to happen about once a month, but it's starting to become more frequent (almost weekly, sometimes, 2-3 times/day).

First problem the left sliding door stopped working which appears to be a very common problem. The other major issue which is very common with this vehicle is the van runs great until it doesn't then there seems to be no definite fix. It started a few months ago when my van wouldn't start. We have taken to multi ok E mechanics and have also had it tested with recommendations from auto stores. We have replaced three batteries, two starters, the alternator and still something is draining the battery. I can't even count the times I have been told well maybe it's this or that and we fix it only to drive it and find myself and kids stranded somewhere because it won't start again. I have a family member with the same issue and have seen many others online with the same issue spending tons of time and money into trying to solve the problem only to not be any closer than when started. I am now in the process of troubleshooting if the entertainment system is the problem and draining my battery. I charged the battery the nd pulled stereo fuse my van stated charged however did hesitate to start once I had to turn key sev er al times. But battery did stay charged. I put the fuse back in and checked a little later and it quickly drained. So I may have found the issue however we have thought that many times so not holding my breath but if that is the issue that still is a huge disappointment because it controls so much both dvd players bluetooth navigation stereo cd player and some other electric features definitely not cheap to replace and having this was a main reason we purchased this vehicle for our family very disappointed that there is not a recall already and we along with others are just left out on our own -my email cblevensky@yahoo.com or phone 7Y5-506-7755also the problems take place after vehicle turned of and you go to start

Car was parked overnight in the garage. When I came out in the morning to leave my home car would not start. I thought it was the starter and had it replaced. Starter engages but engine does not start or crank. I tried two key fobs and still nothing. Every mechanic believes there is an issue with the immobilizer but unable to check at dealer because I cannot start the car. I believe there is a malfunction in the ignition.
