Engine shuts down while I am driving. There is no pattern to when it shuts down. The stabilizer light goes on, then power steering fails, breaks do not respond. This happens all the time and Chrysler can not fix it. I am looking for more information on this but can not find where in your database to look please send a link.

On several occasions now, while in motion usually under 15 mph and slight downgrade, usually when cold. Although it did happen once at 40 mph and another time when engine was warm. The vehicle totally losses power, engine shuts off but the traction control light comes on. Radio and everything else continue to work. Put car in neutral or park and restart. Seems ok after that. It has been getting progressively worse. Feel it very dangerous. My mechanic said the vehicle has no codes so he doesn't know what it is.

Vehicle stalls at different times and under different conditions. Dealer could not troubleshoot or repair the issue. Van will stall driving at low speed (20-30mph) and occasionally at higher speeds (40-50mph). Vehicle completely shuts off and has no power. Extremely dangerous to drive.

On 1/24/17 driving at about 25 miles per hour and coming to a stop, the traction control light came on even thought it was not raining, snowing, or icing. I then noticed the power steering and power brakes were not working. I realized the engine had shut down. I coasted to a stop on the other side of the road and luckily there were no cars coming the opposite direction. It started right back up and drove directly to the dealership. They looked at it and said they thought it was a new battery issue causing an issue with the computer. A mechanic looked at everything and could find no issues. No codes came back on the diagnostic. The mechanic reset the computer and said it was fixed. On 1/26/17 the same thing happened. Driving at about 25 mpg and coming to a stop light the engine again shut off and I lost power steering and brakes. I turned the key and it started up again. I drove home and called Chrysler. The rep said not enough complaints had been issued to warrant a recall. This is a severe safety concern with the car shutting off while driving. The safety of my children and my husband are at risk when driving this vehicle. The van has just over 85,000 miles.

For the last 4 months our 2010 Chrysler Town and country minivan, an otherwise reliable vehicle, has been stalling while driving. The failure is extremely predictable and occurs under the following circumstances. After a cold start while vehicle is still warming up. In a coast down situation, like stopping for a traffic light, or slowing for a turn. Seems to be worse in wet environments. What happens during failure: The traction control light goes on. The van completely shuts down. You need to put it in neutral and restart. Since this vehicle is stalling on the road while in motion, in many instances it leads no near collision situations. Since the power steering and breaking go off its hard to corral. Even when you expect the failure and are ready to drop it in neutral, it causes you to manipulate the vehicle rather than keep your eyes on the road. I might be able to capture this on video if that would be helpful. I have serviced this van according to the manufacturers instructions.

While in motion, the vehicle suddenly loses power. The engine, power steering, brakes and ac unit cut out. The radio and hazard lights continue to function, as if the vehicle has entered accessory mode. This happens both at slow speeds (20-25 mph) and in highway driving (60+ mph) and any speed in between. Sometimes the event is preceded by a bump or jar in the pavement, and other times it has no apparent cause. Turning the key to the off position and restarting the car resolves the issue, however this is difficult when in the middle of traffic. In addition, on occasion, the key fob seems to have difficulty starting the ignition. It might take 3 or 4 tries before the engine turns over, despite no battery or electrical loss. These things often coincide so that you are frantically trying to restart the car in the middle of a highway. This problem occurs infrequently, the worst case of this happening is dated below, but that is not the only time.

While driving the vehicle, always under 40mph, the traction control light comes on, I lose power steering, the engine shuts down, all lights and radio is down. So far I have been able to put it in neutral and restart. This morning I hit a curb going around the round about taking my kids to school. This has been going on over a year. It doesn't matter if its cold or hot, raining or sunny. It will go a month with nothing and then in one day it will die 6 times. We have been to private mechanics we have been to two different Chrysler dealers and they have checked the erg valve and the key fob, the ignition switch, they have check the battery, ran down all the electrical stuff, they had it for 2 days last week and couldn't figure it out. It's died on my 4 times this week. I have four kids and I'm always in the van and now I'm scared to drive it! we checked the VIN and there is no recall as we already did the vent window. But the recalls that are listed describe exactly what is happening. So Chrysler knows and doesn't care! you cannot just recall certain batches when there are clearly other vehicles doing the same problem. What is Chrysler prepared to do for a family when they are seriously injured in an accident because of their van! can't trade it in. Don't have the money to take the loss, wtf are consumers supposed to do with these vans. We are the original owners of the 2010 T&C, I love this van but it scares me to death! I just want it fixed! I mean I love roller coasters too but if one kept going off the tracks I'm not [xxx] sure I wouldn't ride it or put my family on it. Please Chrysler fix these cars! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

During driving (typically city speeds of ~30-45mph), without warning or notification the engine will shut off and you will lose all power steering and braking is seriously diminished. It has happened once on the highway at ~65mph that I am aware of). When this happens the only indication you get is the red traction control light on the can happen while turning, driving straight, curves, etc. In order to gain engine power and the ability to steer, the only fix action is to place the vehicle in neutral and turn the key to restart. It will not just restart in "drive". we have taken this vehicle to the dealership 4+ times in order to diagnose and which we have been told "there is nothing showing up on diagnoses", "sounds like it could be X, but it's $1500 to replace and we can't guarantee it will fix it". we have made sure that it is not visibly related to the ignition issue noted on some other same year/model vehicles...although it cannot be 100% ruled out as somehow related. I have done research on Chrysler webforums and this issue has been noted by multiple other owners (ie. Https:// ) and one of the mechanics made an off the cuff remark about seeing this issue before as well. We have recently moved cities and I plan on taking this to a new dealer in an attempt to fix the issue. But this is a serious safety issue, if this was to occur while trying to make a left turn across traffic, or at a time when the car in front is braking, it could be deadly. I used to happen about once a month, but it's starting to become more frequent (almost weekly, sometimes, 2-3 times/day).

First problem the left sliding door stopped working which appears to be a very common problem. The other major issue which is very common with this vehicle is the van runs great until it doesn't then there seems to be no definite fix. It started a few months ago when my van wouldn't start. We have taken to multi ok E mechanics and have also had it tested with recommendations from auto stores. We have replaced three batteries, two starters, the alternator and still something is draining the battery. I can't even count the times I have been told well maybe it's this or that and we fix it only to drive it and find myself and kids stranded somewhere because it won't start again. I have a family member with the same issue and have seen many others online with the same issue spending tons of time and money into trying to solve the problem only to not be any closer than when started. I am now in the process of troubleshooting if the entertainment system is the problem and draining my battery. I charged the battery the nd pulled stereo fuse my van stated charged however did hesitate to start once I had to turn key sev er al times. But battery did stay charged. I put the fuse back in and checked a little later and it quickly drained. So I may have found the issue however we have thought that many times so not holding my breath but if that is the issue that still is a huge disappointment because it controls so much both dvd players bluetooth navigation stereo cd player and some other electric features definitely not cheap to replace and having this was a main reason we purchased this vehicle for our family very disappointed that there is not a recall already and we along with others are just left out on our own -my email or phone 7Y5-506-7755also the problems take place after vehicle turned of and you go to start

Car was parked overnight in the garage. When I came out in the morning to leave my home car would not start. I thought it was the starter and had it replaced. Starter engages but engine does not start or crank. I tried two key fobs and still nothing. Every mechanic believes there is an issue with the immobilizer but unable to check at dealer because I cannot start the car. I believe there is a malfunction in the ignition.

My car started smoking, and smoked for a good 45 minuets. My temp didn't go high but it turned out to be a plastic piece of hose that Chrysler I guess thought was a smart idea to put plastic on a car part. I found out via my car repair shop they do at least 2-3 replacements of those a week...another thing that Chrysler doesn't seem to think it should correct.

Takata recall the van we have key control is messed up it won't operate. The battery didn't start up we tried many time we even took it to be repaid on many occasions but to no prevail. They say it's not the battery but the car it's self. The electrical controls are messing up when it works lights will turn off and on when we don't even touch them. The car engines is the problem and we try very hard to deal with it but now it is turning into a burden and hazard when we drive. We tried talking to the independent dealership but they won't listen and keep hanging

Several times the engine has suddenly turned off while driving on city streets around 25-30 mph, causing immediate loss of all power, e.g. brakes, steering, etc. And causing high probability for accidents to occur. This is a serious safety issue that has potential to result in serious injury to driver, passengers, other drivers and pedestrians. There have been multiple Chrysler recalls associated with this electrical issue, related to our specific model year (2010); however, we have not been notified by them. When inquiring in the past, we have been told that our particular VIN is not part of the recall. But the issue has now occurred at least 5 times, most recently on Aug. 29, 2016.

2010 Town and country can has been stalling while driving the steering locks as well as the breaks. It usually happens when I'm going between 20 to 35 mph.iit will completely die in the middle of the street and the worst is crossing a busy intersection! I have taken it to several mechanics and unable to find the problem some of them just ignore this dangerous problem. It has shut off in the middle of rush hour with my kids in the van. There has been several Town and country van owners with the same problem. When will Chrysler Corp or anyone going to address this issue before someone gets killed? this has been an on going problem since last year with no help!

The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler Town and country. While driving various speeds, the engine shut off. The vehicle was pulled over and restarted. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer who stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the ignition key needed to be replaced. The failure was not remedied. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

My family purchased a 2010 Chrysler Town and country in November 2014. The vehicle seemed to drive normally until sometime at the beginning of 2015 (I can always get exact dates of service) when it began to stall while driving. The stalling typically happens at low speeds ┐ less than 35 mph. It has stalled once in a 40 mph zone, but more often than not it happens on a residential street with a speed limit of 25 mph or less. As the vehicle stalls, the traction control light flashes and the power steering goes out. The car becomes unmanageable, and the only option for the driver is to attempt to pull over, come to a complete stop, place the vehicle in park, and restart. We have taken the car into the dealership a few times and once to an auto repair business unaffiliated with Chrysler. None of the technicians who have seen the car can diagnose the issue. They have tried to remedy the problem, but the repairs that were made were only guesses and did not fix the vehicle. We have another appointment with charlie's on August 1. this was the earliest ┐one of their best technicians┐ could see us. During this time we have also contacted the Chrysler, the manufacturer, to seek guidance. They are not able to provide any other than to tell us to reach out to the attorney general. Additionally, several websites\forums discuss this exact problem. It is not an isolated incident. Here are a few examples:
