I LOVE my car, not more than God🙂, but has anyone had #LIFTER and #HEADS #ISSUES??? I'm looking at $8000 engine for my 2016 SCAT. If you have or know someone with these issues, comment. They know it's a problem, but since it's mechanical and not safety there is no recall. My position is you know there are issues - why not do a recall and fix the problem versus consumers having to buy an engine or replace lifters and heads?!
So, I ended up getting out of a 2016 RAM 1500 due to a lifter and cam failure. I purchased a 2016 Challenger R/T only to have the exact same issue. The was able to immediately find that it was a lifter failure and had ate the cam shaft. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me on 5.7L hemi. The car started and would rev high on a cold start then the infamous hemi tick would start. This would increase with acceleration and was very noticeable and loud during decel at high RPM. I tried switching to non-mds lifters in the hopes of doing away with the issue. But doing this would en-tale a cam swap, dyno tune, the whole works this would end up a 4000 job not covered under warranty. Its sad that Chrysler Corp. has not fixed these time bomb issues. They are well known and wide spread. As soon as I can I will be switching from Dodge and getting a more reliable sports car.
