So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The uconnect 8.4 inch screen used in a wide variety of Dodge vehicles is having widespread problems with delamination. My vehicle has recently seen behavior move from cosmetic to dangerous functional behavior changes. The delamination eventually will cause "ghost" or "phantom" touches on the screen that occur without any actual user input. This screen can adjust drive modes and settings that impact vehicle handling and power delivery. At worst, the change in vehicle settings via ghost touches on this screen could cause unexpected changes in handling dynamics and power delivery which may result in an accident at speed. This screen is also responsible for control of radio and climate, which is likely to cause distracted driving as the driver attempts to negate or rectify the frequent changes being made without their input. The degradation of the screen seems to be a adhesive material defect which could drip onto further electronic components behind the dash, causing a short or further misbehavior of important electrical systems.
