1st ALL of the interior lights won-??t turn off no matter what you do. Doors all closed locked still stay on while driving can-??t manually switch them off 2nd yesterday I went to pick up my daughter at school and the car all of a sudden just stopped running. It won-??t start. Before it would do that and I had to exit the vehicle and use the remote start. Tried it this time and it said fob deactivated and just beeped. Then the alarm went off and wouldn-??t turn off. When the alarm finally stopped the radio turned on for no reason but the car still won-??t start. Fob has a new battery still won-??t start. This car isn-??t even old and only has 60,000 miles on it. Lucky I was pulling over and parking I could have died. Apparently this is a known issue it had to happen to me for me to find out about it. You-??ll do a recall for cruise control but not this!!!-?? Crazy this car is a defective death trap. It-??s sitting on the curb in front of the house now since I had to have it towed home. I-??m NOT driving it ever again.
Rear center "racetrack" light takes in rain runoff and condensation forms in the low sections on the driver and passenger sides of the racetrack, causing the leds to burn out.
Rear light bar began cracking on its own. Moisture and water is going inside of it and could cause a shortage. Contacted Dodge but they state they can't do anything and I just have to buy a new one on my own but it is over $1000 new.
The tail light track across the tailgate continues to take on water. I first had it replaced in April 2018 at which point I was told that it's about $1300 fix but was covered under my warranty. Fast forward and early 2020, replacement has same issue with condensation. It was replaced again and I was told if there were any issues that I would be paying out of pocket as I was past the original 2 year warranty replacement. It is now a year later and the 2nd replacement is having the same issue. This is three taillight fixtures having the same issue. Dodge needs to pay for this. Essentially I'd be paying $1300 every two years to replace at this point or have burnt out electric components because of the water. A $40K vehicle with 64,000 miles on it.
While driving my vehicle at 60 mph my lights started to flicker on and off. Eventually they stopped but the driver side headlight had never came back on. I replaced the bulb and still nothing. Being on the highways I felt I was causing distractions to other drivers from my headlights malfunctioning and putting myself in danger without having the proper lighting to drive safely.
The racetrack tail light is not airtight so water gets inside the lamp. This caused an electrical short on the led boards and smoke filled my car. I contacted Dodge and they said there was nothing they could do for me. My insurance accepted it as a claim and I had the lamp replaced. The old lamp was intermittently lit before going completely out.
The center part of the racetrack tail light leaks and the water can and will cause the light to fail. Chrysler knows of the issue and it is happening in large numbers on the 2014 to current Dodge Durango. The replacement of the part is over $1,000 us dollars and yet they will not recall the vehicles to make it right instead they use it as a money pit. The light can leak if the vehicle is stationary or moving in wet weather and simply washing the vehicle will cause water to stand in the housing. The lights have been known to go out completely going down the road along with the license plate lights causing a dangerous situation. Please help us hard working people out and make Chrysler accountable for this poorly sealed design because that much money isn't easy to come by these days.
Rear race track lighting taking on water when it rains.ed lights have shorter out. Happens when vehicle is exposed to wet and rainy conditions or carwash
Seatbelt for driver no longer retracts or locks when brake is applied. Doesn't retract back when vehicle is off and seatbelt is removed just flops. Back lift gate opens and then closes and suspends halfway will hit your head if you're standing under it. Interior overhead lights do not turn off while vehicle is in motion and running. Don't turn off for about 5-10 minutes after vehicle turned off and is locked.
Driver side headlamp. Ballast assembly defect and missing headlamp seal. Dealer says the problem is not the light but the who;E assembly needs to be replaced for $2600. Looked online and many others have the same problem with the drivers side headlamp.
The rear taillight on the deck light has encounter water intrusion causing the lights to fail and not illuminate. On this vehicle it has occurred a total of four (4) times. Each replacement part has failed. This seems to be a recurring issue with the taillight assembly. Dodge is not covering due to vehicle age even thought this is recurring and the have had to the replace the light assembly four times. Research indicates that this is not an isolated incident but is being experienced by many owners of this product line. Dodge is not taking responsibility due to the vehicle age, however the frequency of occurrence indicates a faulty product on their behalf and leaves the vehicle without the rear taillight assembly working. Failure can happen at any time with no notice, leaving the vehicle vulnerable to rear end collision.
The racetrack tailgate light leaks and a large amount of water gets inside after anytime its left in the rain, or after a car wash. This will build up and cause a short. This also freezes in the winter and will eventually crack the entire expensive tailgate light. This racetrack light needs to be replaced.
Water entered the tail light(not through any cracking but through the seals on the sides of it) and caused portions of the light to burn out. About 3 months after this the tail light was cracked but caused no more water than usual to get in. The crack was completely repaired and water still comes into the tail light through the seal on the sides of it if it is parked outside in heavy rain. It is embarrassing and unsafe to drive at night when portions of the light do not work. We noticed this about 7 months after the car was purchased when it was parked in a parking lot during heavy rain. During light showers, it does not do this or when driving but if the vehicle sits in rain for a long period of time water starts to build up inside presenting the need to remove a bolt and drain the light(which we do). This also happens when washing the vehicle. You can spray right where it was cracked and no water gets in but if you spray around the sides of the light water starts entering. This has been happening since 2016 but we do not know the exact date but it would be about mid January 2016.
Our 2014 Dodge Durango rt AWD taillight is taken on water when it rains or even going thru car wash causing light to short in spots which is a safety concern for possible fire hazards, wrecks there needs to be a recall by manufacturer to have to replaced.
Rear taillight collects water in the housing when it rains, snow or wash. Due to this defect know my rear tail light is burned out. This occurs when I'm stationary or moving. I read a lot of forums and it seems like a common problem with Dodge.
Noticed water inside the center rear taillight. Took the lower corner bolts out and tons of water pours out any time the car gets wet (car wash, rain storm etc). Parts of the led light are going out because of the water intrusion. I make sure to drain the water whenever the car gets wet, and to not turn the lights on when there may be water inside the housing. Of course, you can't replace the bulb inside, you have to buy an entire center taillight for over $1,000!!! wont be long and the entire light will be burnt out. Now, since I live in Wyoming where we have nasty winters, and the water intrusion keeps getting worse, the water has frozen inside the taillight and cracked the lens, creating more water intrusion! terrible design. I have read hours of forums about this issue. It is very very common on 2014-2019 Durangos. There is no fix for the issue. Some have gotten extended warranties to pay for a new taillight, then, a month later, they have water inside the light and a burnt out light again. What happens when the light goes out and I am in the middle of a nasty blizzard; I can't go buy a new bulb to put in it and I definitely can't go buy a new taillight at $1K just to have it do the same thing. Dodge needs to fix this issue. The lights need to be recalled and replaced with a reliable design.
