Rear racetrack lighting gets damage due to the poor insulation around the housing. Part of the lighting does not work and can cause visablitiy of other drivers to see the vehicle. Dodge has not recall but it should be since it cause failure in a state inspection.
2014 Dodge Durango tail light assembly not properly sealed when manufactured and allows water to enter and ruin circuit board for led tail lights. I have electrical engineering degree and this is not a bulb burned out. The leds circuit board is what's damaged not the leds. Dealers say warranty does not cover bulbs. But this is a whole tail light assembly that was not sealed right from the factory. It cost $1100 to replace. This is a defect not normal wear and tear. There are literally thousands of people online with same issue.
Because of condensation/standing water in the back racetrack light, the light is now burnt out and Dodge is quoting me $1,100 to fix this issue. It is not covered under any warranty and there is not yet a recall. I contacted Dodge regarding this safety issue and they have offered no resolution or suggestion to help. This is a wide spread issue affecting models year 2010 to present. I am honestly wondering how this has no been addressed yet. When I questioned whether the issue is being fixed on newer models, I got a very generic answer.
Rear raceway taillight has partially gone out. From what I've gathered, this is a common problem with this vehicle due to an engineering design flaw. Water is allowed to penetrate, shorting out raceway light, decreasing visibility from the rear, particularly in adverse and low visibility conditions. This manufacturer flaw should be addressed, corrected and replaced by manufacturer as it is a safety issue.

Racetrack tail lights is not correctly sealed and water is coming inside, due to this the tail light had a shortcut and the dealership says the I have to replace the whole tail light and the rear camera, this is the second time I see water inside the racetrack
Rain/road way water gets into exterior racetrack tail light causing shortage resulting in the light starting to go out. This is a manufacturer issue. The cost of repairing is over $1000.
Rain water gets into rear tail lights and causes short in tail light. Light burns out and needs premature replacement due to leak from water. Due to safety issue with lights being burn out while driving in rainy conditions, especially at night, is a large safety issue which can result in accident. I do not want to be rear ended due to this safety issue, especially with my 1 year old daughter and wife in the vehicle..
The tail lights (commonly referred to as the 'race track tail lights) mounted on the exterior of the rear hatch constantly fill up with water which is burning out the lights. This is apparently a very common problem on these vehicles. This part should have been covered by the manufacturer. This happens any time it rains and in the seattle area that is very frequent.
Rear 'racetrack' lights has water in it, and a section of it has already faded out. Took to the dealer and of course not covered by my 'bumper to bumper' and the cost is $1300. I'm so irritated!
Ractrack light stop working rear tail light "racetrack light" burnout thanks to a water leek in to the light this is a manufactor defect the price to replace this light is more then $1,000 dollars
The center brake light on the rear hatch leaks water into the light assembly and causes damage to the led lights, which causes some of them to stop working.
The rear light in the center of the tailgate, commonly referred to as the "racetrack" light, is not sealed properly by the manufacturer and is susceptible to water and condensation building up inside of it - this can come from the vehicle parked in a driveway/parking spot during rain, driving down a wet road, or during a car wash. The result of extended water within the light is several burned out sections of leds on both sides of the "racetrack" were discovered while the vehicle was parked at night, preventing the full rear lights from illuminating.
Rear tail gate tail lights fill with water when exposed to rain or carwash. Light assembly contains no seal and no way to drain water or vent vapor. Collected water could cause a short disabling running lights, brake lights, license plate light or fire. This is a known manufacturing defect to Dodge yet no recall has been issued. Issue could affect safety and/or citation from law enforcement.
Water collecting inside racetrack led taillight causing taillight to not be operable. I do notice water pooling inside the light fixture every time it rains. I have to open the rear hatch and the water will slowly start to drop out.
The racetrack tail light will fill with water during a rain storm causing the rear running light to go out. This could pose a serious safety issue if the running lights go out at night. I started noticing this problem on or around 4/12019 and has progressively gotten worse. Doing research has lead me to several posts on the internet with others having this same issue. Here is just one of the many link talking about this problem. Https://www.dodgedurango.net/forums/Durango-discussions-2014/42937-poll-water-tail-light-2014-A-26.html
