Front windshield wipers turn on every time vehicle makes a turn. Air bag light stays on, which does not allow you to use the horn. Ongoing transmission problems and in rainy weather-water leaks in from what appears to be the rear window seal.
Air bag light would come on and remain after starting and driving vehicle. Windshield wipers comes on by themselves. Horn fails to function properly when in use.
Two issues to discuss. First windshield wipers appear to work independently on instructions when on intermittment setting. You never know when or where they will stop. Second issue is the tensioner and water pump within the cooling system. I have had to replace them each twice in the last year. It appears to be a chronic problem.

Windshield wipers would come on and shut off intermittently while driving. This first happened in August of 1998. I brought vehicle to "mack Dodge" on 8/31/98, dealer replaced malfunctioning "multi switch" part number cmc 05012382aa. I noticed wipers performing incorrectly in November, 2000. I spoke to a service representative at mack Dodge and was told the prior repair was only guaranteed for 12 months or 12,000 miles. On January 21, 2001 I was driving the van with my family in the rain and the wipers stopped. I had to play with the switch to get them to resume working. I strongly feel that this is a very unsafe condition, which was never corrected properly while the van was covered under the 3 year/ 36,000 mi. Warranty. Service engine light on for the 4th time since July 2000. Airbag light just bee fixed, now door is stuck open and has to be closed from inside. Windshield wipers come on of their own Accord. Get it sorted Dodge.
Intermittently windshield wipers become inoperable and sometimes come on by themselves, obstructing view of driver. Vehicle at dealer's for repair. O2 sensor, ignition switch, key cylinder, and A/C blower resistor and wiring kit all replaced.

The tackometer and speedometer flatlined to 0 then returned to normal, the horn and cruise control, have stopped working and the airbag light stays on most of the time. The transmission had a total failure in the highway and had to be rebuilt. The wipers occasionally come on by themselves and cycle a couple of times and then stop and occasionally stop in the middle of the windshield (this has been tothe dealer in madison heights, va several times for repair under warranty, but not since the warranty expired. The left speakers on the sound suystem periodically go off and on while the system is on. The starter went out and had to be replaced the end of June, 2000.
04/1997 - windshield wipers randomly turn on and off. Interior lights also go on and off randomly. Dealer said, "couldn't determine cause." 01/1999 - cruise control and horn stopped working. Air bag light constantly on. Mechanic said, "due to air bag problems"
Windshield wipers still engage by themselves originally repaired 05/99. Transmission went out AT30904 miles. Airbag light came on and horn stopped working had to replace click spring. Car stall while driving said it needed tune-up. When using ac or driving in rain and making a turn steering gets stiff and cannot control. Interior lights flash dealer could not duplicate. Power door locks lock and unlock by themselves. Had to replace axle due to it being bent when new transmission was put in. Had to get new tires because axle threw off balance. Keep replacing batteries. Drove car for 10 minutes and fan came on and stayed on after car was turned off.
Coolant gauge, tach, and speedometer all flatline at same time and return intermittently, air bag warning light stays on and horn and cruise control stopped working at same time. Drivers side sliding door lock works when it wants to. Windshield wipers work when they want to when it is cold outside. No fuel leaks until recall repair made then leak developed when tank filled ( dealer fixed). Radio does not switch from am to fm unless button pushed 3 or 4 times. Just one big electrical lemon.
I question the need for a new fuel tank I paid for - $594.31 parts and labor. The tank only leaked when it was full, and when I questioned the service rep, he replied that the "tank is made of plastic and can crack just from the sloshing of fuel." Not a good reason. And now I have a recall for the same problem I described to the service rep. I thought the "known problem" with the windshield wipers was fixed when the dealer replaced a windshield that had been scratched by "impulsive wipers." Not so. They still misbehave and I'm told it will be $280 to repair, out of warranty. Three rack and pinions right off the bat. I am told that this vehicle qualifies as a lemon - but I like it and just want to be treated fairly as to need for repairs and their cost.
Front rotors warped or flawed. Heavy steering wheel and front end vibration during downgrade slow braking. Fuel tank is collapsed which will hold only about 13 gallons. Wipers coming on intermittently and gets worse when climate gets hot. Belt tensioner failed which can hit and break the main crankshaft pulley.
