Sometimes driving down highway, and in parking lots and sometimes backing out of my carport..my foot usually on brake but a few times it wasnt.this is the short version on my 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan that has 180,000 miles
Ignition shuts off randomly when driving or in reverse while backing up. Has happened over 30 times in the last 2-3 yrs. I was crossing a busy road & it shut off. Driving up my drive way & it shuts off. Backing out of my driveway & it shuts off. The last time it happened was 5/5/2020.
For the past couple years my van just turns off when I'm driving. Nobody can figure it out. Then my doors randomly open. This happens anywhere. Interstate or in town. Steering wheel locks up and I have to put in numeral and start. This happens daily.

The vehicle shuts completely off while driving. No spitting or sputtering, no stalling, no error codes or lights. Just shuts off with no warning. Weather conditions, speed, miles drove matters
The check engine light came on, vehicle started shaking when running. Codes showed it was the crankshaft position sensor and the camshaft sensor. Both were replaced severall times my a mechanic. Dealership had vehicle for 2 weeks could not figure out what was wrong. Replaced the flexplate. It now makes a grinding noise and check engine light is back on. Now it is stalling several times while driving at any speed. It puts my family at risk and now I cannot leave the neighborhood in fear that it will stall while driving. If we get into an accident with the vehicle stalled no airbags will be reployed. Sometimes it had difficulty starting.
I have a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan with the 4.0 liter motor, 6 speed automatic transmission. My van just passed 119,000 miles and it just started to shut off while driving at speeds between 30-40 mph, on city streets. This is a major concern as I Transport my children around. I have not been in an accident and I hope not to anytime soon. I've been reading forums online and many Chrysler owners are saying it could be anything from the egr valve, to the ignition switch and even bad battery. My check engine light is not on so no codes to decode. Please fix this major problem before people get hurt driving these vehicles
While driving my van just shuts off I have no steering it just stops. It is currently at a dealership in Indiana Pennsylvania called tri star. I saw there was a recall for this and they are stating I had it fixed in 2016. It is happening again. Should this not be your responsibility to fix. I have two small children with me. 18 months and 4 months I want peace of mind they will be safe.
While driving the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan it will just shut down. While trying to figure out the problem I found 2 recalls for electrical issues both having to do with the vehicle shutting down while driving. When I entered my VIN it showed one that needed the ignition and fobs replaced. We took it to our local dealer tri-star of Indiana and they say the recall was completed in June of 2016. I can't find any paperwork on this and it still shows up. Even if it was done, it's obvious it needs done again because their replacement parts are defective just like the ones they replaced. I already informed them if anything happens to my family or me while driving this, they will be the first names on the law suit the Dodge for not fixing the issue correctly the first time. This happens in town, on country roads, sitting at stop lights. The last time it happened my daughter was taking her kids to the doctor on Tuesday 12/3/2019.
February my husband and I financed this car and within less than one month we been experiencing one issue after another. First, the heater hose had a hole in it then after that was the radiator then after we replaced those two now we have a issue with the exhaust modifier as well a issue with the brakes today the tires locked up on us. Could be related to the issues thats been reported on the newer Dodge Grand Caravan.

I recently purchased a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. The car shuts off on me while driving. It will start back up after you put it in park and turn it back on but it just shuts off. It shut off on me twice on the highway with my kids in the car and four times while driving in the city.it makes this weird noise when turning left and the lights are flickering on and off. If that's not enough the doors seem to just open and close on there own the trunk shut on me while I was getting groceries out. I brought the car into the shop and they said they can't duplicate the shutting off and claimed they fixed the door opening in it's own problem.well the doors continue to open and now they are hard to open with the key and you have to manually open them. This is a safety concern and the dealer is claiming there is nothing wrong please help me.

Often after starting the vehicle and in drive it will automatically shut off. I have to put in neutral and turn ignition over again to make it drive again. This happens at stop lights, city streets and expressways. The radio and air will still work but I'm just coasting with no power steering.
