5.7 hemi engine failure due to ingestion of water. Vehicle traveling over high water just below front bumper leading to water being sucked thru the air cleaner assembly into engine and hydrolocking the engine.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram. The vehicle stalled while driving 30 mph. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. When the key was removed from the ignition, the engine continued to run. The engine shut off when the vehicle ran out of fuel. The vehicle is currently at the dealer for inspection. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop approximately four times, but the cause of the failure has yet to be determined. The failure mileage was 53,692 and current mileage was 67,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 heavy duty quad cab 4X4 swb. While driving at any speed the vehicle shuts off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on more than 12 occasions, and the failure still remained. Daimler/Chrysler stated that there was nothing that could be done because the vehicle belonged to someone else. The current mileage is 27,500 and failure mileage was 2,000.
