I was driving slowly down a street at about 20-30 mph and tried to close my sunroof and the plastic that holds it into the moving track broke off leaving it stuck in the open position. I took it to Ford thinking that since there have been multiple issues with their Edge cars' roofs, they would be able to repair it. Instead they wanted to charge me $8,000 to repair the whole roof.

The rear driver side door latch sensor does not detect when the door is closed resulting in a door ajar signal and the internal lights staying on. Additionally the auto lock function when the car is driving is disabled.

Door ajar light is on telling driver to shife to park door locks will not stay loaded when driving, so anyone can open car door while traveling down the road, this is not safe for someone may open door and fall out or if your at traffic light someone out side of car can open door, this is unsafe, you stand a chance of being car jackked or some other bad things can happen. I'd say car is unsafe and the problem needs to be recalled. I had Ford dealer check it out and said it needs a driver door latch assy. Replaced this problem had occurred on and off over the pass year or so but would seem to fix it selfwith in a few miles but now it stays

When I am driving to work at 5:00 am down the interstate my interior lights will just come on. My Edge has interior lights that won't go off door ajar is on the dashboard. Late at night when my car is not in motion and my lights just turn on my home security system has recorded it several times and the car has sat off for many hours. My door ajar light is always on. For safety reasons this should be addressed by the Ford company.

The rear left door "door ajar" indicator would show that the door was open, even when slammed shut. At first I had to slam the door harder, but after a while even that didn't work. When that didn't work, it became an issue because my interior lights wouldn't go off after leaving the car. I had to break the part to get my lights to go off so I didn't drain my battery overnight.

Drivers door is incorrectly reported as being open, interior lights are turned on, parked or while driving and stopped at traffic lights, impairing visibility outside at night. Secondary prevents doors vehicle from being locked by external pad when parking the vehicle as well as keeping lights on draining the battery. Trying to open/close door multiple times eventually resolves, but gets frustrating when it is 5+ min trying to do this in rain or in parking lots this has been increasing in frequency and more frequent in cold weather than warm..

Vehicle displays a warning "vehicle coolant over temperature" the vehicle had been inspected twice and the technicians claimed not to have been able reproduce the error and also claimed that the computer was not "spitting" out any errors. The message displays within the first file miles after the car has been stationary for more than 2 hours and it is displayed for 10-20 seconds.

The door ajar light and warning sounds alert when all doors of the vehicle are definitely closed. This has caused me to ruin 2 batteries in the last 1.5 years. Also it causes my door locking mechanism to not engage while driving leaving me vulnerable and unsafe as a female driver. My Ford dealer will charge me +$500 to fix the 2 faulty mechanisms, then probably another +$500 when the other 2 begin not working.

When you start your car. A message comes on that doors are not closed. It happens randomly every time you drive the car. You can open and shut your doors. All the time. The car also randomly honks the horn and the lights all flash. We have changed the batteries in the remotes and it still happens. This has been going on for while.

The door ajar light will stay on even when the driver's side door is closed. It takes multiple times of shutting or slamming the door to turn off. When I drive with the door ajar light still on, the doors will not automatically lock, which is unsafe. About 10 instances within the past two months, the car alarm went off for no reason, both day and night in different locations. If this continues to happen, it can run the battery down. I got a diagnostics test performed on the car for $95 and it is a faulty latch in the driver's side door. The Ford dealership estimated it would cost $510 + tax.

I just bought this 2012 Ford Edge. It worked fine at the dealer. Now after II get it home, the lights will not go off and the car battery died. I thought it was an old battery. Bought a new one. Then I noticed the door light wouldn't go off. Now I have a car I paid 140000 for and I can't drive it because the light will not go off which drains the battery. This should be a recall for Ford. I am amazed it is not. We need something done to fix this so we can drive the car. I do not have an extra $650 to fix it temporarily.

Door lock assembly, although door is completely shut, door ajar alert stays on, which causes all the lights to remain on and it does not allow you to lock your doors, which is a safety issue when you have children who could potentially open the door while in motion.
