On 8/07/2022 I was driving my 2011 Ford Escape XLT 3.0L V6 when it lost all power and a wrench symbol popped up. Thank God for being in the lane for the next exit. I had someone nice enough to push it to the side. I was taking my son to the dentist. My heart almost jumped out of my chest as that was the most scary driving experience in my entire life. This has caused me to not trust a car at all, out of fear that something could just go out without any warnings or indications of an issue. I pray that no one has lost a life this way. For someone such as myself with health issues, this can be very triggering.
I took it to a mechanic and they told me that it was a throttle body issue common with this model. I had no idea. I immediately began searching for answers online, and help. I found this site for complaints and I hope that there will be something done for people with this vehicle before it's too late. I wouldn't even want to sell this to someone and put them in danger. How could a company not do something about this? How is this deemed "ok"? The makers should really consider that it could very well be their loved ones in this predicament.
