Escape SE 1.6L Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,000 miles

I got my 2016 Ford Escape brand new with 26 miles on it. Within 6 months I noticed the transmission would always shift hard from 3rd into 4th. That was before 6000 miles. Now, I am at 36000 miles and it is happening between 3rd to 4th and sometimes 4th to 5th. Also clunks from drive into reverse, I have to wait several seconds to engage reverse to keep that from happening.

So many issues with this car. As soon as I try to fix one issue, another rears itself. The transmission is a lost cause that is likely going to end up costing me thousands long before I have had a chance to pay off the car. Sometimes is clanks while at high speeds when accelerating but most times it happens when shifting from reverse to drive or part to reverse, etc. Unbearable to experience such significant issues at on 14,000 miles which is approximately when I started noticing the problem.

Escape Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,800 miles

2016 Ford Escape with AWD. There is a clung when shifting from reverse to drive. It feels like the rear wheels are having a problem trying to engage as they are designed to when the vehicle starts out. NOTE: The 4 wheel drive engages on initial vehicle movement in a forward direction. Then after a few hundred feet the systems on board determine that the road surface is not slippery and the read wheel drive is automatically disengaged.

Escape 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 54 miles

After just buying our 2016 Ford Escape our transmission would make a clunking sound going into reverse about every 4 to 6 weeks. Miles as low as 50 miles. Called Ford dealership for a written notice to be recorded. Miles now are 5,058 and starting backing up yesterday and transmission shuttered. After looking up other complaints, I think I am going to regret buying an Escape. Ford motor should have this problems worked out by now. We have an appointment for 02-25-2015 to let dealership look at it. So disappointed!!!!
