This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Driving on freeway at 65mph. Car stalled leaving no power to steering and brakes. Was able to restart and drive at drastically reduced speed. Engine RPM drops at idle at any stop on when car idling with transmission in park. Diagnosed as defective throttle body.
Faulty throttle bottle. While cruising slightly under highway speeds the vehicle entered "limp mode" which prevents the maintaining of speeds creating a safety hazard. New throttle bodies are on "indefinite" back order which in my opinion correlates with a systemic, ongoing issue.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Explorer. The contact stated that when accelerating the vehicle at various speeds, there was an exhaust odor being released into the cabin of the vehicle. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer on three occasions. The vehicle was repaired the first and second occasions but the repairs were unknown and the failure recurred.
