The contact stated that while turning into a parking lot, it was discovered that the tailgate inadvertently went down while hauling a fifth-wheel trailer causing damage to the doors on the trailer and damage to the tailgate. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was equipped with a push-button automatic tailgate release and believed it was the cause of the failure. The contact was able to continue driving to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 32,000.
