Rocker panels rotted out. Costs more to repair than the car is worth at this point. Never had a single problem with this car, but I have seen others with rotted out rockers. They had foam in the rockers as a sound deadener, but it just caused trapped moisture and started to rot from the inside out, so it's difficult to see it starting.
