I was in a parking lot turning into a marked parking space, with my foot off of the accelerator, when the accelerator moved forward abruptly. The engine roared as the car accelerated forward, the car jumped the curb and moved forward striking a column supporting the front corner of an office building. The column fell forward coming to rest on my car, inches above my head. I applied the brakes from the moment I first realized what was taking place, but the brakes had no effect. The cost of repairs to my car was over $3000, plus the cost to repair the building. I took the car to the dealership where I had purchased it new. The dealer's employees stated that the computer disclosed no problem. They contacted Ford engineers who ordered the dealer not to attempt any repairs. Ford claimed no knowledge of such a problem ever occurring.

I have a 2010 Ford Fusion S, I was driving home for christmas break when my car shut off and had no throttle response. I didn't drive the vehicle for like five days and the car was fine but it started back up in janurary and again in the beginning of March. It has a code of P211 which is the throttle body issue. I have done some research on the problem and multiple Ford Fusion's are having the same issues as I am. For some reason Ford is trying to avoid hearing the issue on the fact that they have faulty throttle bodies. It is a saftey issue when you are traveling down the highway or interstate at 60-70 mph and all of sudden your car no longer has a throttle response. You have to pull off the road shut your car off and restart it. This doesn't fix the problem it just does it all over again within the next mile or two. Ford should realize the issue and make a recall for the throttle body. There are people throughout the United States that are paying between $400-$600 out of their pocket if their car is no longer under warranty to fix a common problem that people are having with Ford Fusion.

While attempting to pass a vehicle, the transmission completely disengaged from the engine as if it were in neutral leaving me with no power to the wheels. The revs on the engine were extremely high. As I was passing on the left, this left me in an extremely dangerous and vulnerable position as I had no power to move the vehicle. Fortunately I was able to coast to the right at which time at a near stop the transmission violently re-engaged. First time, took to the dealership where they reprogrammed transmission. It has since happened again, again while accelerating to pass. It is just a matter of time before this kills someone. It is not safe, dealer claims that they can not reproduce, there are no codes. This issue is well documented here and elsewhere, there needs to be a recall.

2010 Ford Fusion will lose power at highway speed, car will not stall completely but will jerk and shake without enough power to get off road. Tool light will come on, after restarting car will drive normal. Sudden loss of power is extremely dangerous! how many crashes will it take before our government forces Ford to fix the problem. Took to mechanic, no codes to determine problem. Ford.....step up stand behind your product! wife was almost ran over by tractor trailer!

I was driving on a 6 or 8 lane freeway when it suddenly downshifted to a much lower gear (probably 3rd) and the tachometer maxed at 7000 RPM and held there until I manually moved the shift lever to neutral. When I put it back in drive (still moving) it again raced to 7000 RPM and I put it in neutral and coasted to the side of the road. I put it in all the gears, then in drive and went back on the freeway. It stayed in 1st gear and I again went to the shoulder of the road. I shut the engine off, restarted it and got back on the freeway. It shifted ok, but after a few miles did it again. I sent my complaint to Ford Motor Company, but they say they can't duplicate the actions and therefore can not/will not do anything about it. I have a Ford Fusion with about 35,500 miles. I bought the car used with about 18,000 miles and noticed inconsistent shifting right away. Then progressed into not shifting back into gear right away after shifting out of reverse. I took it in and they reprogrammed the transmission and the service supervisor said that this transmission adapts to the owners driving habits. Took it in again about a month later and they said the fluid was low; they weren't sure why just filled it and sent me on my way. Third time I took it to a different dealership. They had to pull the transmission and replace parts, which took almost a week. It seemed okay at first but now is displaying the same issues as before of not shifting into gears when accelerating. The problem was not fixed and I am left with a vehicle that also had a heater motor replaced that were making a whistling noise, floor heat that barely comes out, car alarm that goes off even when all the doors are unlocked and bright lights that just randomly come on. I don't know if its a lemon, but I smell disaster in the next couple of years! wish Ford would do the right thing and stand by its product.

My 2010 Fusion SE V6 with the infamous 6F35 transmission is slipping, hard shifting, fluid is blacked and or burnt. My concern is that it also has just lurched forward for no reason. I feel it is a safety issue and should be recalled for a new transmission. Please force Ford to issue a recall on this model transmission. I know I am not the only one with this issue on this vehicle.

The transmission does not shift correctly. The engine will rev up and the transmission will shift hard when it shifts. Especially when going up hill or under heavy acceleration the engine my red line before shifting.

I have a Ford Fusion with about 30000 miles. I first noticed a hard shift at 10K miles and thought maybe its just a simple fix. I took it in and they reprogrammed the transmission and the service supervisor said that this transmission adapts to the owners driving habits. Well 3K miles later its worse so I take it back and the tech said all the clutches were replaced and two other things were done! I have taken it back four more times and have not had it fixed. It appears that Ford admitted there was a problem with a transmission code that fixes the problem. However, the problem was not fixed and I am left with a vehicle that also had a window motor replaced, some pulleys that were making a whistling noise, and a battery and taillight that went out changed. I don't know if its a lemon, but I smell disaster in the next couple of years! wish Ford would do the right thing and stand by its product.

Transmission slip into neutral and revs past 4000rpm, 1-2 & 2-3, also severe hesitation when slow down then try to speed up again (I.e. stop & go traffic). Has put me in unsafe situations requiring defensive driving to avoid an accident. Has been in for service 4+ times and each time only "calibration". service dept is very helpful but hindered by Ford Motor Company's inability to solve defect. Also, was given print out of Ford advising service that the 2-3 hesitation is " deemed normal and it meets design intent at this time".100% unsafe to drive, especially with children in car as the gear slipping and or hesitation followed by suddenly engaging then speeding up puts the driver in unpredictable conditions. Has put me in numerous near accidents (specifically when merging or changing lanes and yielding to turn left). Most recent "fix" was 2/2/12 and transmission still slipping, hesitating, slamming into gear. Have filed with BBB auto line. Ford Motor Co. Needs to seriously address this from safety standpoint.

1 bought a Ford Fusion in Aug. 2011 used w/15,000 miles on it no problems with it until after I reached 32,000 miles the transmission slips and the wheels sound like its going to fall off, it somes seam to jump out of gear while driving and starting and stopping. I took if to a Ford dealer for oil change told service tech about this he said nothing wrong with car never took for test drive. I did some looking on-line there are a lot of people saying same thing. I read about a re-call on transmission called dealer brought car from said they didn't get notice. Sent E-mail to Ford no reply. Can not get answers from no-one. I have young children I don't want to be driving down the road and have wheels fall off or transmission fall out. This seams to be getting worst.

When we took it in for normal service of oil change the technician brought out the transmission dipstick to show that it was as black as the oil. We had it changed for over $120. The car is shifting much better than when we bought it but the owners service manual states that it should not be changed until 60,000 miles. We feel that it should be handled and covered by the dealer.

While driving down the interstate, the Fusion began to jerk and shake due to the transmission slipping, causing the car to lose its speed very quickly, almost causing a wreck. The dealership ended up having to do a complete transmission overhaul at only 13,000 miles. The problem came back around 20,000 miles and the dealership said it needed its codes reprogrammed. The problem persisted and around 70,000 miles, the vehicle began doing the same thing. Again while driving on the interstate, the car's transmission started slipping and the vehicle shook and jerked. Now the dealership conveniently recommends a new transmission, now that I am outside of my warranty at a cost of $4,000! this is a very dangerous situation and having a newborn child in the vehicle makes it even more alarming. I do not feel safe in this car and strongly feel that Ford needs to make its customers whole by recalling the transmission components entirely.

At 18540 miles the transmission failed and the dealership had to rebuilt it and reprogram the PCM. Then the car was taken back 5 months later with 30100 they had it a week but could not duplicate the problem. We then towed the car to Alabama and less then a month later the transmission failed again at 31111 miles at this time it was in the shop 36day the car was pick up and drove 12 miles and the transmission failed again. The dealership then had it another 14 day. A month and a half later the transmission failed again, the dealership had it 3 days. We drove it 35 miles and the transmission failed again and the dealership had it another 17 days.then we had the car for a month and the transmission failed again with 36000 miles on it. The dealership had it for 16 days. Ford Corp has not allowed the dealership to replace the transmission, but has authorized them to rebuild and reprogram PCM numerous times. We have the car now and it is still not shifting right. We have talk to Ford and they will not doing anything for us. Told us the car is fixed....or is it. This car has become a safety hazard because you do not know when the transmission is going to fail in heavy traffic and create a dangerous condition. We fear for our safety when we drive this car.

On September 30th I was driving home and I had only driven less than a mile at approximately 35 miles per hour when the wrench light appeared on my dash and my car quick moving. I was able to get it to move about 1 mile per hour so I got the car off the road and shut it off. It was dark and I was alone. I was going to call aaa for a tow and I decided I would try to start the car and see what would happen. The wrench light was gone and the car was moving like nothing was wrong with it. This happened again on Oct 5th and Oct 7th during rush hour traffic and both times I was fortunate that I was able to get out of traffic to avoid getting hit both times my speed was approximately 45 mph. I have taken the car to two car repair shops and they can not find any thing wrong with it when they connect it to their diagnostic machine. From September to current date the car has done this at least another 10 times. Sometimes the speed may be at 55 or 60 miles per hour. I did contact the local Ford dealer and I wrote a letter to the Ford company neither party has done anything to help me. There is a defective in their product. The local Ford dealer suggested it may be value body and throttle body issue. I continue to drive the car to work and back waiting for it to break down or to be killed in an accident when it quits in the middle of a busy highway and I am unable to get out of the line of traffic. So much for the commercial "number 1 most dependable car in America ". my Ford Fusion sucks.

"unknown or other" in this case would likely relate to "power train" and/or "electrical, " but definitely relates to public safety. The ignition tumbler releases the key in any position--park, neutral, drive, or low--rather than in only park. Drivers of cars with manual transmissions are accustomed to setting hand brakes using gears. Prior the the date of incident above, I recall moving slightly forward on a slight slope, and I simply applied the hand brake to avoid putting more strain on drive components. After a dead battery (due to lighted dash gear position indicator) and a jump start, it was days later that I realized that the key had been removed with the car in gear. The Ford dealer and Ford Motor Company say repair consists of replacing the shift assembly (includes sending unit which has no "output") at a cost to me of $487.65 + tax. They claim this is not a power train issue and that my "cpo" expired less than a month earlier, this on a Ford "certified" car. Public safety is involved because a rolling car can cause havoc.

Lost parking function on the transmission. Parking function is missing causing the vehicle to move after I park the car. Didn't realize until after I parked my car. Was walking towards the building that I noticed that the car was rolling back and had to run back, unlock the car and then push the brake. After investigating realized that the "P" function was missing. Did hear a huge clunking noise when I tried to park in the first place. This is a safety issue and action needs to be taken to address this issue and make Ford provide an explanation for the 2.5 L 6F35 transmission. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle with a bad transmission and the parking pawl broken inside the transmission. It was necessary to use parking brake to keep the car steady during parking.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. While driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle began to jerk, shake and decelerate abnormally. The contact shut off the vehicle and after restarting, was able to drive without a failure. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The approximate failure mileage was 28,000. Updated 02/15/12 the vehicle was taken to the dealer on Dec 28th and was returned to the consumer the next day. The dealer was unable to diagnose the problem. The second time the incident occurred. The dealer was able to pull up code from the vehicle's computer, which stated the throttle body needed to be replaced, along with a new battery. Updated 02/29/12

My car is equipped with the 6F35 6 speed automatic transmission and has been experiencing lingering defects. I took my car in to a Ford dealership in late November 2011 and notified them of transmission problems. My invoice reads, reprogram PCM to latest level and reset fluid level per tsb 11-11-23. The problems continue. I will admit that the flaring problem has improved, although the remaining problems persist while the overall feeling of transmission degradation seems to be accelerated. My trans. Continues to struggle and feel worn out during low end acceleration. An inspection of my vehicle from a professional mechanic discovered burned up clutch material within the contaminated transmission fluid. He showed it to me, and I saw it with my own eyes. The dealership I was just at wasn't able to find any burned up clutch material in my fluid or the left front axle half shaft seal leak which my mechanic also discovered upon his inspection. I find it very fishy that these 2 problems automatically disappeared by themselves, it seems to me that the field service engineer from Ford made repairs to my vehicle while it was in his or her possession during the defendants legal inspection for my lemon law suit at elder Ford in troy, Michigan. What Ford did to my car was illegal, a defendants inspection allows for observation only, not repairs. I continue to experience very hard abnormal shifting while driving in city conditions and an uncontrollable forward lurch/jolt while driving in city conditions which is extremely unsafe. Sometimes I will have a delayed engagement into drive. The shuddering vibration coming from the front end of the vehicle after driving the car for a short while continues. I continue to have an intermittent problem dealing with a burning oil or greasy smell coming through the air vents. The abnormal high pitched humming drone sound continues.
