Transmission keeps on lurching forward and dealership cannot do anything about it now. It's a safety issue for me as I almost got into an accident on the street due to huge jump. Transmission keeps on acting up and dealer keeps saying everything is fine and cannot duplicate the other since the time they rebuilt the transmission on my vehicle.

While driving on the interstate on cruise control at 70 mph, the car lost acceleration/power, the wrench light came on and we had to coast to the shoulder of the interstate. Came to a stop, and the car idled, but appeared to want to die. Car was shutoff and restarted. Wrench light went off. We continued on our way without further problems. This is the second time this has happened within a two months. Brought the car to the lander's Ford dealership in collierville, tn after the first time it happened, but was told they could not duplicate the problem. Nothing was done. Based on previous reports, this is a common issue and is related to throttle body defect. As noted by others, this power failure is a safety concern and could lead to a serious incident.

I own a V6 2010 Ford Fusion and on two separate occasions, while driving on the highway at approximate speeds of 65 mph the engine has stalled without warming. At the time the engine stalls, a service light will come on and the car completely shuts down. In both instances, the car could be restarted, and the service light disappeared upon restart. We have taken it to the dealership after both incidents, and they are unable to identify a fix as the service code is not being stored in events of engine failure (and the light is not staying on after restart). This is an extremely dangerous situation as it has happened without warning, while traveling on major highways at high speeds. I have seen entries from other owners on both the NHTSA site and other blogs sitting the same problem, yet Ford is unwilling to accept that this is a pervasive problem and is not working to find a solution. We have escalated from the dealership up to the corporate Ford customer service department with no success.

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving, the wrench warning light illuminated on the instrument panel and the vehicle was resistant to shifting gears. A local mechanic diagnosed that there was a throttle body defect. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 54,500.

I was stopped at a traffic light, it turned green and stepped on the gas pedal and the car immediately started to rough idle, the wrench indicator lit up and would not move forward. There was minimal response to throttle input. I was able to pull off the road out of traffic to a safe spot. I left the car running to see what was going on. The tachometer was fluctuating mainly downward as it idled rough. After about two minutes I turned off the motor. I made a few phone calls and while calling roadside assist decided to try and start the car. It started and I went straight to the dealership. As fate would have it, the dealership could not duplicate the concern and was not able to pinpoint the cause. They were kind enough to suggest replacing the throttle body and motor assembly. It cost me $512.38. Needlessto say I am not at all happy with this issue. This issue could have occurred in a more dynamic setting, heavy traffic, lane change or merging, etc, potentially causing threat to my life and that of others. This issue needs to be addressed by the manufacturer in my opinion.

When I was driving my 2010 Ford Fusion the wrench light came on and the car lost all power and stalled out. Luckily I wasn't in front of a truck or on the freeway. Very scary my car only has 15391 miles on it. This car was also leaking oil. I am not happy with this car. When I took it to the dealer this problem didn't show up at first so the service person kept the car longer and finally it did the same thing and lost all power so they replaced the throttle body and replaced the the gasket that was leaking oil. Also a few months earlier one of the coils went bad and had to be replaced.

My 2010 Ford Fusion has had issues for the last month with the lack of accelerating with the check engine light and the wrench light coming on. Took it to advanced auto with a code of P2112. Took it twice to the Ford dealership with the first time the dealer telling me nothing. This happened again while I was driving through an intersection with my two kids in the car and lost almost all power and was nearly hit by an 18 wheeler. Dealer said that the throttle body needs to be replaced, will cost me $520 dollars and it isn't covered under my power train warranty. Thousands of reported problems with this very same problem with Ford not being held responsible for faulty equipment...something needs to be done before someone is hurt or killed.

While driving my 2010 Ford Fusion down a very busy main road in atlanta, it died. I was lucky that I was able to get over into the right hand lane without being able to accelerate and get onto a side street to park. The dealer replaced the throttle under warranty, but less than a month later I was getting on a busy freeway here in atlanta. About the same speed, 45mph, it wouldn't accelerate, but this time it did continue running. Eventually it picked up again. It is currently back in the shop having the transmission corrected. Ford did issue a recall last year which was supposed have corrected this issue, and I did take the car in for the recall when I had only had it for 30 days. That was over a year ago, and it has "skipped" between 2nd and 3rd gears the whole time which has made me uneasy, but eventually became the norm. Anyway, the recall did not correct the issue. My fear is that when I am unable to accelerate, or when the car simply shuts down, I will be rear ended and cause a serious car accident involving others as well as myself. This is my first american brand car and I want to love it, but feeling unsafe driving it is making it difficult. I want this on file because although I have a warranty on my car, I think Ford should be correcting the issue for all Ford Fusion owners since our safety is at risk.

While driving down the interstate in rush hour traffic, my 2010 Fusion (35,265 mi) lost acceleration. Jerked car into the median and put into park, it immediately began idling very rough and almost sputtering to cut off. The wrench light displayed. I cut the car off and let it sit for a moment and then cut the car back on. I pressed the gas and the cars RPM shot up to over 5000 RPM. It then idled normally and I merged back in traffic just hoping to get it to my office. I made it another 2-3 miles and it did it again, this time both the engine light and wrench lit up. I immediately cut it off, restarted it and it seemed fine. I decided to get off at the exit I was close too and park the car as I knew I was going to cause a major accident if I did not get it off the road. I came to the top of the exit ramp and sat in traffic for a few minutes, the car seemed okay, no rough idle nothing strange except the engine light was still displayed. I merged into traffic off the ramp and in the middle of the road same thing occurred, no acceleration, I had my foot to the floor. I got it into a parking lot and called the dealership. I had the car towed in got a loaner to drive into work. The Ford dealership called about an hour later and said the car is fixed and I can come get it. They said their was an issue in my electronic throttle body and they have replaced the throttle body. I love this car but at 35,000 miles I should not have already had a bad battery and now this issue. I am starting to not trust the car. I hope the issue is fixed, but I am almost scared to go pick it up tonight. I had no idea of these issues until I looked it up online after the this morning.

Transmission slips and shifts hard in low gears. Ford has replaced several transmission components but the problem still persists. I fear I may crash into the rear of another car when this occurs. Recently a new problem has developed at high speeds where the transmission does not shift and runs at 4500 RPM for 20-30 seconds. Ford says nothing is wrong despite me sending a video of the console when this happens.

This problem is due to a faulty transmission or transmission components, as outlined by Ford recall 10B15. The car jerks/slips and it feels as if the gears are not catching upon acceleration. I received the 'recall' letter from Ford describing this program, and immediately brought the car to the dealership. They preformed the module recalibration and told me everything was fine. However, 40,000 later, my transmission started exhibiting the problems described above and Ford is now replacing my entire transmission, although not paying for the rental car.

I previously sent a complaint because my car kept stalling, wrench light would come on, but when I turned car off then turned on, it would run, but then they couldn't get the codes. Based on my internet research, looks like 2010 Fusion are having this problem between 30,000 and 50,000 and it is always the throttle body that needs to be replaced. The dealership would not replace the throttle body because the codes were not coming up. I just wanted to give you an update, I purchased my own code reader and after my car died in the middle of the road (very dangerous) three more times, was finally able to get the code myself. I brought it to the dealership and with the code they were finally able to look it up.....and it was the throttle body....just like I told them since every 2010 Ford Fusion between this mileage is have the same problem. Since this is obviously a defect on this car and is dangerous because car stalls in middle of traffic, it needs to be recalled! I don't want anyone to go through what I went through, and I would love to get reimbursed for the money I had to pay on Ford defect. Thank you

Just starting off from a traffic light the car started to stall. The car was towed to montrose Ford where they determined a part in the transmission failed. The part was ordered and replaced a few days later. On the 16th of September while driving the brakes failed. The car was taken to ganley Ford on the 19th of Sept. They initially determined it was a transmission problem, exactly the same problem that was repaired in August. On the 21st of Sept. The maintenance people drove the car with a computer connected to analyze what was happening but found nothing wrong. Now they say the problem is hydraulic related but will need to keep the car for at least 30 days to solve the problem. At this time they have no idea what is really wrong. Inside the car is an intermittent noise. It can only be heard when just starting out or at very slow speeds. Ganley Ford has no idea where this noise is coming from.

While driving the transmission slipped and made the care downshift and upshift the car hard. I had to apply the brakes hard because the rpms where jumping as I cam to a complete stop. Then when accelerating the car shifted hard.

I purchased a 2010 Ford Fusion with 24,000 miles in January 2011. I began having issues with transmission almost immediately. The transmission will frequently "slip" while taking off and shifts very hard at times. I will also "slip" when driving at higher road speeds causing the RPM's to rev but the car will not accelerate. Recently, I was driving approximately 50 mph on a busy highway when the car stalled and the wrench light came on. The engine was running but the car would not accelerate. Once I got pulled over, the RPM's bounced up and down rapidly. The car has been in the shop approximately 9 times so far. They replicated the issue once and transmission repairs were made but the issue continued. It is still under warranty but Ford will not authorize any additional repairs since they haven't replicated the issue again. I just learned that this is a common issue with the Ford Fusion and that the 10B15 recall was performed on the vehicle just before I purchased it. After additional research, findings indicate that the recall has not corrected the issue in many cases. I do not feel safe when driving this vehicle and it is very disappointing to learn that Ford will not take appropriate actions to provide reliable vehicles to their customers.

When I go to shift from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, etc, it seems like the car is not registering the change in gears. As soon as I shift and attempt to continue accelerating, the engine will rev up too fast and then drop down and rev up normally. Whenever I attempt to use cruise control, going up a hill cause the engine to rev to quick again, shutting off cruise control. My car is 10 months old with just 23,000 miles (5700 of which were on it before I bought it) and the dealership I took it to is trying to tell me that it's normal wear and tear, and that the clutch and clutch plate need to be replaced. They're also saying it's not covered under warranty and that it will cost me $1300 + tax to repair. I don't drive this car hard, nor do I do any type of racing or mods to it. It's a car I use for work mainly. There is absolutely no reason the clutch should have to be replaced so soon. There are numerous sites with this same issue with similar Fusion. Point is, I'm not paying for this repair.

My car has went out 3 times in week twice on the freeway with oncoming traffic. It slows down then a wrench symbol comes on. I purchased my vehicle 3 weeks ago. Took it back to the dealer and was told by the service dept that I need to have the throttle body repaired, . they ordered the part and said I need to pay $100 deductible. I just purchased this car I shouldn't have to pay anything if it would have been checked out correctly I wouldn't have had this problem. They also told me I need a new battery!! three weeks after I purchased it!! this should have been replaced by them for free, they said I would need to buy a new battery and it would be $109 more plus the deductible. I am very disappointed in this car. I love the way it looks but am so unsatisfied with the performance. If I get into an accident I hold Ford co completely responsible for any damages, as I see they have had many complaints and they are not doing anything about it. I am looking into an attorney because this car should not be sold if it has this defect, it is putting peoples lives in danger!! what are they waiting for to see how many deaths will occur before they let people know not to buy it. I plan on telling everyone not to purchase I Ford. I should have purchased a Honda/like before.
