CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.

The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.

And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

after cleaning the lines and replacing the canister and vent valve with a good used one i rerouted the vent valve intake tube and added a 1micron filter to it. i live on a gravel road and the gravel dust entering the system was enough to stick open both valves ford stuck this tube into a crossmember with no filter of any kind. i have put a lot of kms . on the car since the repair with no problems.

There is a recall on several Ford models for a fuel inlet valve error. As luck would have it, my vehicle was excluded due to the manufacturing plant and manufacturing date. Was not under warranty. Repair: $250.00 Contacted Ford and was told even though this was a known problem...sorry about my luck. There weren't enough problems at the manufacturing plant and the build date of my car.

This part was placed on recall but for vehicle ending March 2011. Our car was built in May 2011 and they used the same recalled part on our car. We have opened a case but there are no guarantees that they will fix that problem and the problems it may have caused with the vacuum canister and or the fuel tank which could be cracked.

Ford needs to be called to task for trying to get around recalling all the cars they used that part on. When u call up to inquire about that recall they run the vin and then tell you your car is not in that recall. When you go to the dealer and point out it's the same part then is the only time your informed to contact Ford customer service and get a case opened. Plus the dealer we went to said this part is currently on back order. So your left with a car that could crack the fuel tank and catch fire. Plus it's running rich and using more gas than it should.

If there is a class action lawsuit going on this defective part I would like to know who to contact. I would also like to know where and how I can get this message out to all the people driving this car that this problem is there and when they are told their vin number is not in the recall group and their car has been diagnoised with this problem to file a claim and help get the word our what Ford is doing.
