Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.

The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.

And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

Traveling along and accelerator pedal did not respond to pressing and steering was hard to steer. Car was still running. Loss of power steering and no gas pedal. Pulled over and turned car off and restarted. Issue went away but came back 20 miles later. I called dealer shenandoah Ford and was told this is normal and nothing to worry about and keep driving.

State of NJ had a 2012 Ford Fusion that was back to the dealership 5 times for a check engine light. On the 6th attempt to fix the problem at the dealers, the vehicle caught fire and burned to the grouind while out on a road test with a dealership employee. The vehicle is a total loss. The dealership has not disclosed what caused the fire. I recently was informed of the recall for 2013 Ford Fusion and thought maybe the 2012's may have a problem also. The dealership information is as follows: All american Ford, 375 route 17 South, paramus, NJ. Contact is [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
