The paint (black) has faded on nearly half of the roof and the border around the windows. It makes my otherwise-nice looking car look like a piece of junk. This same problem occurred with my last Honda (2002 Civic, also black) but at least the problem started to occur about 13 years in, not 9 1/2 like this car. I know I live in a state that gets lots of sun, but this problem doesn't seem to be occurring as rapidly with other car brands. Honda paint must suck...

I think Honda should repaint cars with paint issues from '06-'09. It only makes sense to me.

Never paid as much as I did for my Honda, have owned a car since age 20. Never had a car to fade paint on me. Hood, trunk and roof of car has faded bad. Very dissatisfied, will not purchase another Honda. Anyone out there with this problem, if so, what did you do to get it resolved?

This is my second Honda and the paint is awful. It is so faded on the entire roof and most of the hood and gets worse every day. I thought I could just buff and wax but nope. It has to be completly repainted!! So upset. I am still paying on this car.

Very disappointed in Honda. This was my second and last Honda. Not taking accountability is what bothers me the most. I understand making mistakes, but as least own up to them. This is far beyond normal wear and tear. I still had my old Honda when I started noticing my newer car's paint fading. The paint on the older car looked better when I got rid of it, then my newer car does now.

The inside of my vehicle is in excellent condition, but from the outside, I am so embarrassed. I worked hard to keep my car in good condition. Honda themselves will not even give me a decent trade in amount!

Accord VAL 4

I have purchased four new Honda cars and passed them down to our children.

The quality and reliability has always been outstanding.

Our newest one, a 2006 Accord has a clear coat problem and the paint goes

dull and cloudy between waxings. All of our other three are older with better

paint! The car is great except for this problem. We planned to keep it for many years

but now are in the position of either selling it or spending thousands for new paint.

HELP!

Accord LX

  • 100 miles

The car is silver. The external gas cap cover is covered over about 80 percent of its surface by a "ghostly" blotch at least two shades lighter than the rest of the car. A 4 by 5 inch blotch on the front right fender, just behind the headlamp, is about three shades darker than the surrounding paint.

Do these cars really get released from the factory with paint defects? I'm surprised (and disappointed). I bought this car because I expected questionable quality issues like that didn't occur with Honda. Advice?
