Car has weak power with CVT transmission when backing into my driveway which is uphill. When we go grocery shopping, we have to back up into the driveway because the trunk lid will not stay open on its own if we park with the front of the vehicle facing uphill. So we back into the driveway so the the trunk lid says open. The car is weak and has no power when backing uphill. Wish I would have bought a different car, this Accord looks good but, it sucks at a lot of things and is by far, not better than any previous models. The CVT transmission is the worst thing that happened to these cars.
Update from Jun 5, 2019: Dealer stated the reverse gear in the CVTs are small and is the reason for the lack of power on a hill. CVT performing normal
Update from Feb 17, 2020: Verified dealer statement of CVT Transmission having a smaller reverse gear ratio causing reduced power. Downloaded the vehicle spec sheet from Honda which shows the gear ratios of the CVT. Makes complete sense and most people won't ever notice this concern who park on flat surfaces not in need of additional power to back the car up a hill.
