For a while, the door lock system locks and unlock continuously while driving. I have taken the car to the dealership but was told nothing is wrong. This morning, the car cannot be unlocked with the key or the remote. When I push the lock or unlock button, a grinding noise can be heard coming from the driver door.

Passenger side door lock will not stay unlocked. Either manually unlocked or automatic such as when the transmission is put in park position. This causes a potential safety problem for any passenger sitting in the passenger location. They cannot conveniently exit the vehicle at any time.

The front passenger side door locks itself immediately when trying to unlock. A passenger would be unable to exit the vehicle unless they exit the driver side or one of the rear doors. I notice this problem when the vehicle is stopped at 0 mph and in the park position.

The first incident involved the back gate which would not unlock with the key fob. I tried locking/unlocking from the driver's interior door controls and also with the key fob. Attempts were made with the car running, ignition turned to accessory, and also with the car turned off. Nothing corrected the problem. This persisted into the next day when it started working without any particular intervention beyond my previous attempts. The problem reappeared a few days later, only now it is the front passenger door. I lock the car with the key fob, but the passenger door remains unlocked. The same is true when attempting to lock using the switch on the driver's door. Like others who have posted on this site, this car also attempts to lock/unlock at unexpected times well above the usual speed where the automatic lock normally operates. This is a safety and security risk. My young passengers are at risk if the locks disengage. My property is not secure if the locks are not reliable. My personal safety is at risk if my alarm system fails to secure all doors. It is unsettling to consider the consequence of being unexpectedly trapped inside the car. It is equally troublesome to drive the car not knowing if my children and I may become locked out in the dark, in a parking deck, or in a remote location during travel. Repairing each lock as it fails is a risky gamble, but I cannot afford to replace actuators (approx $250 X 5 doors) on every door as a preemptive repair, either.

I bought my car brand new in November 2007. It is a 2008 Honda CR-V 5dr 2wd ex. A couple/few years back, the locks started acting up. It was always the same two, the front passenger door and the rear door. I would push the unlock button on my key, and the other 3 doors would unlock, but those 2 would not. I tried using the unlock/lock buttons on the driver's door, and after hitting the lock button first and then unlock several times, it would work and those 2 doors would eventually unlock. And then sometimes all of a sudden they would start unlocking again using the key. This has been an ongoing annoyance for the past 2-3 years. I can't remember the exact date or mileage when it first happened. Probably about a year ago, they finally stopped completely. They will not unlock at all using the key or the driver's door. The passenger one, of course, I can manually unlock from the inside if needed. But the rear I have absolutely no way of opening that door. Completely ridiculous!!! it has been a complete pain to not have that storage area. I have had to lower the back seats to put anything in there. It also caused me to incur damage to my car this year. I had a flat and needed the spare tire. Well, I had to climb through the doors into the back where my spare was, only to realize you couldn't get to the spare because the rear door was in the way. So I had to rip the back flap to get to the tire. So that will cost me money to fix. This is in addition to the dealer telling me each actuator will cost over $300 to get replaced. After researching trying to find this actuator part, I came across the lawsuit and many many others with this problem. Sounds like Honda needs to recall this and pay for fixing their problem!!!

Started experiencing door lock failure a few months ago. (~56,000 miles) I noticed driver side rear door lock is not staying locked, car locks continually try to lock themselves when accelerating from 5-10 mph. Door locks keep attempting to lock, driving me crazy. Not to mention a big safety issue.

The door locks on the driver side won't open and I had problems getting out of the car. Then when the car was all locked, I couldn't open the car, even with the actual key inside. It took leaving the car and letting it rest to finally get inside the car with the key. While driving the locks kept opening and locking inside the car. Not very safe.

The car was parked and my friend was able to get into the front passenger seat without setting off the alarm. I got into the car and noticed that even after locking the doors. The front passenger lock would slowly open and does not stay latched. This is a huge safety concern and by the amount of other complaints is not unique to myself. Of course it happened the month after the warranty expired.

On 08/26/2013 the front right door on my 2008 Honda CR-V started to unlock itself even when in motion. It would lock and then unlock itself again. I had the Honda dealer in old bridge, NJ fix the issue a few days later. Then on 09/11/2013 all of a sudden all doors of the vehicle started to lock themselves immediately after unlocking. Many times doors will not unlock at all making it difficult to get into or out of the vehicle.

The power door lock on the front passenger door will not stay locked. As soon as you lock it manually or with the key fob, it will slowly unlock itself. This occurs if the car is parked or in motion. It will lock itself if the auto accelerates over 10mph, but then will again slowly unlock seconds later and will stay in the unlock position. This in turn defeats the security system, making it ineffective, allowing the passenger door to be opened without setting off the alarm. I attempted to reset the locking mechanism as stated in the owner's manual but it does not fix the issue.

The door actuator on the front passenger and driver side started to act up. At first when locking the door, the door slowly unlock itself, but over the period of couple of days the door started to make jamming mechanism noise (click, click, click...). now every time when I drive, the car doors mechanism does not sense that the door is locked, and always get jammed trying to lock the door (even though the doors already is locked).

I parked the car in my garage, 6 days later, I could not open the doors using remote control key, then I opened the drive side door mechanically, and pressed the door-control button, no response, and pressed the horn, no response. Put the key to try to start the car, no response (even no noise). I checked and found ig main fuse was blown out (not 100% sure, it is difficult to take out the fuse due to over tightened screw) using a charger to charge battery, and found powder window has response, but doors did not response, put the key to start, some lights came on in the panel, but not sound at all. How the ig fuse was blown out during the parking, it must be happen when I pulled out my key 6 days ago when I parked my car. Check with all friends and google search, no clue what happen! I will ask the car to be towed a shop to check by a technician. I never do anything to change car wring, never install anything into the car.

My car door drivers side lock stopped working in may it cost me close to $700 to replace both sides Honda said I had to do both of them. The when I was driving out the end of may to visit my mom in Washington state, my sunroof exploded out in the middle of no where. That was $1400 in wa to replace. On the way home in August my ac stopped working just blew hot air when it was 92 outside. I have never had any of these things happen to any other car. There all very uncommon so they say but after researching the ac clutch problem I see it happens a lot and Honda should fix it for free! I will never buy another Honda ever!!

Rear passenger door lock cannot be locked. Keep unlocking by itself. Major safety issue. I've done my research and seems like a very common issue on 2007-2009 CRV. Honda needs to fix this issue asap before anybody get hurts.
