While parking my 2012 Honda CRV in front of a nail salon, my car lunched forward and we both ending up in the middle of the nail salon. I went on my brakes and the car took off and landed in the middle of the nail salon. I did not pass out but that is all I remember.

Has anything like this ever happened before in a 2012 Honda CRV?

CR-V LX 3.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,000 miles

I was stopped at a red light on 10/04/16. My car suddenly accelerated & pushed 4 cars in front of me into each other. Needless to say it has cost me a lot of money and my insurance premiums will go sky high. I'm just glad no one was seriously injured. Has anyone else had this problem. I have had it to hesitate lots of times also.

CR-V EX-L In-Line, 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission

Even though I can find no reports on carcomplaints.com of similar problems associated with 2012 CR-Vs, this incident seems to be very, very similar to the large number of 2011 CR-Vs that reported a similar problem. I've parked this 2012 CR-V an untold number of times in our garage and have always used a rubber mat with raised ribs to know when to stop and shift from drive through neutral to park.

Last night I stopped the car on the rubber mat and when shifting from drive through neutral to park the car accelerated and hit the garage wall which, along with my braking, stopped the forward motion. I don't know where the shifter was upon hitting the wall because my first instinct was to immediately get it into neutral and turn off the ignition. Some damage to the garage wall and to the front bumper of the car will need to be repaired. Thank God that no one happened to be in front of the car!!
