CarComplaints.com Notes: It's rare when a newer vehicle has defect trends. Judging from the identical 2017 model year, the 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to have at least two — overfilled oil levels with a gas smell, & heat not working.

Both problems affecting the Honda CR-V's 1.5L "Earth Dreams" engine appear to be related to cold-climate regions.

CR-V owners report overfilled oil levels due to fuel in the oil, & sometimes a gas smell in the cabin. That problem appears to be related to fuel injection which Honda hopes to fix via a software update. Honda so far has only conducted a recall in China & a "product update" in Canada.

CR-V owners also report no heat even after warming up their CR-Vs for 30 minutes — not even enough to defrost the windshield. So far, there has been no fix from Honda for this issue.

panasonic console defective panasonic console defective

My 2018 CR-V is repeatedly have central console issues while driving that is causing a big distraction and high risk of a crash. Brightness function is constantly changing to high, low and off while making noises and being unable to stop the issue until car is turned off. This is happening many times since the first year of use, reported to the Honda dealer where i bought id and their response is Honda has not come with a solution to fix it yet, and replacing the console is not an option because the problem wont be solved I am stuck with this issue for almost a year now and I don't know what to do!

Honda CRV's have a problem with their Panasonic component in the console. They acknowledge there are frequent issues with radios not working, Bluetooth connectivity failing, heat/air not working, etc... But they want Panasonic to fix it. Panasonic has not yet been willing to do anything so CRV drivers are stuck. We lease our vehicle and have been told there is no solution for this problem. We are trying to exit the lease but that is problematic as well. Our dealer has been so-so about assisting. Honda corporate has been useless. And the lender wants us to pay a big penalty if we quit our lease early. This is ridiculous.
