CarComplaints.com Notes: It's rare when a newer vehicle has defect trends. Judging from the identical 2017 model year, the 2018 Honda CR-V is likely to have at least two — overfilled oil levels with a gas smell, & heat not working.

Both problems affecting the Honda CR-V's 1.5L "Earth Dreams" engine appear to be related to cold-climate regions.

CR-V owners report overfilled oil levels due to fuel in the oil, & sometimes a gas smell in the cabin. That problem appears to be related to fuel injection which Honda hopes to fix via a software update. Honda so far has only conducted a recall in China & a "product update" in Canada.

CR-V owners also report no heat even after warming up their CR-Vs for 30 minutes — not even enough to defrost the windshield. So far, there has been no fix from Honda for this issue.

During a motor vehicle accident I was hit from behind while stopped by a vehicle going 40-45 miles per hour. I was pushed into another stopped vehicle in front of me. My drivers seat fully reclined and twisted as a result of the impact, and I was not secured into the seat properly as a result. I have multiple injuries from the accident due to the way my body was able to be thrown around the vehicle.

The seats are extremely uncomfortable and cause bottom and back pain. After driving for 30-40 minutes the driver's bottom becomes numb. This is a safety issue because the driver cannot attend to the road as effectively while being in extreme discomfort. The seats are not well-designed if they are causing the driver this much pain. Adjusting the seat in many possible positions does not eliminate this discomfort.

My car was in park. The plastic trim piece that houses the controls for the seat, on the drivers side, has a trim piece that curves around to the front of the seat about 4-5". this trim piece caught my pant leg on my exit from the car and I fell out of the car onto the ground. The first time it happened was Dec. 21st 2018, my body was sore for 2 days. I called Honda and they had me go to my local Honda dealer and have the trim piece replaced. 2 times now this trim piece has caught my pant leg on my exit from the car and I have fallen out of the car on to the ground. The second time the trim piece caught my pant leg was on January 23rd. 2019 and I fell out of the car on to the ground, wrenching my left shoulder, left hip and skinning my left knee. I have called Honda both times and made a report. I do have a case #, but they are closed today so I will get the case # on Monday.. I am sending 4 pictures the first 3 are driver side trim piece that is sticking out and the last one is passenger side trim piece that is nice and tucked in. Big difference!!

After over a 12-15 attempts over a week I still cannot locate the anchors to which a child safety seat attaches in the back seat. The driver's manual is not only not helpful, but misleading. It's necessary to google the problem to locate the anchors and then still has been impossible to attach the latches. This would be especially difficult for anyone regularly removing and replacing a child seat. I've given up and hope an angel is watching over me when I Transport my grandchildren. How many more will revert to this method before a child is injured?
