09/04/2007 driving East on I-10, smelled something burning, engine would rev up but car would not go. Coasted over to shoulder (was almost struck in rear by large truck sounding his horn and locking his brakes; I could not accelerate out of his way). Car would shift but would not go. Had car towed to dealer. Invoice stated, "found clutch disc came apart." Car had only 26,232 miles on it. Replaced clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. Cost $1098.68.
